I have about 20 years’ worth of scarves  from 3 family members clogging up cupboard space. My wife has put her foot down....she wants them out.

I think someone offered a solution once before on DEMONLAND.

Can someone remind me of a good way to dispose of them?
I thought perhaps the club could use them to drape over seats if we play again this year in Melbourne with no crowds. ( eg when we play an MCG final in Sept. with no crowd...as I confidently expect!)

Was this it ?    it does make a great "throw"  or  blanket  especially for a young demon fan.

...she wants the 3 family members out?

Seriously though, I dropped off my collection to someone who wanted to make a blanket from them a couple of years ago, after advertising here on Demonland.  I'm sure someone else will want to do similarly.

sounds a good iso hobby

I once asked that the Club stop sending a scarf with my membership pack but to send me  current year cloth badge instead.

Then I would be able to sew this onto my scarf. Thought it would look really cool to have years and years of membership on the one item and would eliminate the issue of too many scarves, too much waste.

Anyone interested in Demon scarves? Please let me know.

Sew them together and make a  trench coat for the winter. A great way to really show your support JJC.

Doesn't the club request donations of MFC scarves and hats about the time when they have a multi-national drive.

They give out tickets and offer second hand paraphernalia to mainly international uni students, travellers and guests.

That round is the one when a cohort of people, together with their country of origin flag, parade around the boundary at the G.

Have a chat to the club about it.

Me too Kent however this year I opted out. The ones I  wea around 2005 - 8 as they are much bigger than recent ones and I like the colours better than recent years were the red looked maroon for some years. Will be just my luck that the win the flag this year and I won't have a scarf. Still  it would be a easy problem to bear.

I got a blanket made up last year and it's great. It's a lot heavier and warmer than I thought it would be so it's great in winter.

With all the different lengths, widths, styles and colours we've had over the years it's a bit of a hodgepodge which I like

I had a blanket made and take it to the footy on cold days.Make it wide enough for 2 people.Very warm.

Given we get 6 new scraps every year and in WA maybe wear them once or twice :(. A blanket is on the cards.

The quality of the scarves has really declined over the last few years.

Yes Darkhorse they have shrunk every year for at least 12 years and they are made of petroleum products I think! Certainly not a natural product Where are all the greenies when you need them?

What happened to all of last year's scarves?

I couldn't get to my local collection point and they quickly ran out anyway apparently.

Does the club have them stored?

I'd like to get one, as do some Demon mates.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
