Couldn't recommend it enough... I grew up on the Mornington Peninsula and early adulthood lived in Prahran.

I moved up here 6 years ago for family reasons and couldn't be happier... Weather is great, people are generally nicer, way less traffic, doesn't smell like [censored] everywhere you walk.

The storms in summer take a bit of getting used to though...

Yea we moved to the Macedon Ranges 3 years ago from Melbs but I’m a coast kid so keen to move to warmer beach focussed areas that we can let the 3 little nuggets spend as much time outside as we can. Winters here are long and cold.

Peter V'landys might talk a good talk but surely he wouldn't be looking forward to the prospect of a dozen or more AFL sides calling QLD home for the next two months or more with games being played most nights of the week. As long as they don't all resemble the Sydney v Richmond game last week of course.

That's what I was thinking. Either that or they'll squeeze us in to 3 games in a 10 or 12 day period.

I think Bombers and us will get a limited bye and they will use the period to squeeze in another game for us.

Too dangerous to have a single game standing alone as the season progresses.

So Melbourne and Essendon have already had a “bye”. Pretty handy for all the other clubs to get a rest mid season considering the packed schedule coming up.

Punished again for something we didn’t do.

Yes. Read between the lines and Goodwin has been promoting the rhythm method.

Judging by this week's installment of 'The Talking Points' Goody's proselytising on this one has been about as successful as his game plan according to many Demonland posters.

Lol we’ve had our bye!! It’s all weird and strange of course and the season is being pushed to a conclusion but that’s ridiculous.

You'd hope that we get the biggest possible spacing between games to make up for the fact that we don't get a bye and the "bye" that we did get was harmful rather than helpful for us.

We will be screwed again

we had the Claytons bye . Normally players are given 4 days off after the game before the bye. Training loads are changed .

The players had 24 hours notice but still played a scratch match . Then they had to focus on next match vs Geelong.

No mental break and Doubtful of reduced training .
As pointed out the other teams will get a legitimate bye with all the benefits. We wont get a chance to recharge our batteries . By the time we play Essendon we may not be in a position to play finals and Essendon might have a greater incentive to win. Players turn off mentally once teams cant make finals and it could be round 12 where a number of teams cant make finals.

I said to the goodly wife a month ago... you know I’ll rarely ever need to go back into the office, I can work from home 90% of the time.. lets move North, it’s a better lifestyle for the kids... we’ve been looking for places every since.

Check out Magnetic Island @Cards13 - beautiful lifestyle, one of the best primary schools in Queensland. Easy access to Mebourne via Townsville airport.

Of course, that assumes that the bye is good for a team. Let's see how it pans out. If Essendon and Melbourne don't get a bye when everyone else does, we might be the beneficiaries of continuity of play. Or in Matthew Richardson-speak, "Momentum is a big thing in football these days".

If I recall correctly Geelong has a shocking post bye record so we are doubly screwed by not getting a crack at them after the bye. #glasshalfemptier

Dees hopeful of getting a game at Alice Springs. Makes sense. Got to still support the AFL NT development.

Perhaps play the Dockers there. Makes sense. Avoids a trip to WA entirely as we already played the Eagles. Not too far for the Dockers either. Win win.

Don't worry Satan with such a half glass empty attitude we don't have to look fir any "minuses" in the fixture when you are in the job!

You have obviously forgotten the AFL mantra of being agile and flexible!

FFS just accept the scheduling etc. as it is about the only  way we will finish the season before November or the virus completely knocks footy out of The equation.

Just remember whoever wins will have competed in the hardest and possibly most confronting Season ever and it will be judged as CB one of the greatest flags ever!!!

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t
