Interested in the concept? Will they play the full games on the Dees website? There is no other way of watching the reserves play. Is there a way to persuade them to play the games on the Dees website.

Would be great if they did.  Perhaps they could get the guys that did the Nth Melbourne practice match back in.  That was a great little production really.

Always like to see the reserves and I'm glad the AFL and the clubs have got together and enabled these games to happen.  With a nearly completely fit list (for once) but also plenty of developing talent and depth, I think it's an advantage for the MFC for these games to be going ahead.

It's suppose to be about 16 a side so this is what the team could look like.

B: J.WAGNER, HORE, CHANDLER

HB: RIVERS, HUNT, BAKER

C :               , VANDENBERG,

HF: HANNAN, JACKSON, NEAL-BULLEN

F: BEDFORD, PETTY, BROWN

FOLL: PREUSS, SPARROW, JORDON

IC: SPARGO, DUNKLEY, C.WAGNER, BRADTKE

Has a scratch match against Carlton this week been locked in?

I doubt Pruess or Petty will play, they didn’t appear in the match sim. But fingers crossed

I think one of Smith or OMac will be in the curtain raiser and playing Key DEF given Lever is fit

Why don't they play Spargo in the Back Pocket they won't be able to see him.

Yep, latest injury report has Petty (groin), Preuss (Achilles) and Hore (toe) sidelined. At least a month for all of them.

Yes disappointing.

Petty is one bloke that I really want to see progress this year either as a tall back or key forward. He might be on the trade table at year end unfortunately as the Crows may dial up his number and he be tempted.

Preuss is fragile for a guy that looks like an absolute warrior.

Toes must be the new AFL issue !!

Remember that anything goes with these matches . It's open to the clubs to swap players, reduce numbers etc etc

I think that one of them will play and the other will be carryover emergency. So I don't think either will play.

With Hore, Preuss and Petty out. It doesn't look good for Petty. I have had to change the team.

Come on W’DEE, chuck Dunkley on a wing and place 4 Demonlanders on the interchange.

I reckon we stack our reserves with best 22 and focus on this match. Carlton will never see it coming.

Interesting.

We are playing at Princess Park against the blues Saturday at 11 i think. Be fun to sneak in and watch

A bit strange the clubs involved in tonight’s game didn’t provide any score updates or reports for their supporters. Wonder if it was an AFL directive as the broadcasters were trialling some TV tricks.

With their season all over bar the shouting the Demons head back on the road for the third week in a row as they return to Adelaide to take on the Crows. Who comes in and who goes out?

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.

It's Game Day and the Demons are back on the road again and this may be the last roll of the dice to get their 2025 season back on track as they take on the Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium.

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

The Gold Coast Suns find themselves outside of the top eight for the first time since Round 1 with pressure is mounting on the entire organisation. Their coach Damien Hardwick expressed his frustration at his team’s condition last week by making a middle-finger gesture on television that earned him a fine for his troubles. He showed his desperation by claiming that Fox should pick up the tab.  There’s little doubt the Suns have shown improvement in 2025, and their position on the ladder is influenced to some extent by having played fewer games than their rivals for a playoff role at the end of the season, courtesy of the disruption caused by Cyclone Alfred in March.  However, they are following the same trajectory that hindered the club in past years whenever they appeared to be nearing their potential. As a consequence, that Hardwick gesture should be considered as more than a mere behavioral lapse. It’s a distress signal that does not bode well for the Queenslanders. While the Suns are eager to remain in contention with the top eight, Melbourne faces its own crisis, which is similarly deep-seated but in a much different way. After recovering from a disappointing start to the season and nearing a return to respectability among its peer clubs, the Demons have experienced a decline in status, driven by the fact that while their form has been reasonable (see their performance against the ladder leader in the Kings Birthday match), their conversion in front of goal is poor enough to rank last in the competition. Furthermore, their opponents find them exceptionally easy to score against. As a result, they have effectively eliminated themselves from the finals race and are again positioned to finish in the bottom half of the ladder.
