The alpha male of the herd?

I reckon Boris will appreciate the break so that he can heroically recover. He will come out of this well.

Spain has ordered a,most a billion A$ worth of tests.

Good idea but ironic as the supplier is China

The ministry said the deficient kits were not part of the new, €432m Chinese order, and had been bought before the Chinese authorities has issued its list of approved manufacturers. In recent days, Spanish health authorities have been urgently distributing almost 650,000 rapid testing kits to frontline medial staff and residence homes for older people.

I believe they postponed Expo West due to pressure being put on them from exhibitors and large suppliers (e.g. Well Well). There are certainly concerns, but perception and pandemonium  rule. There's a lot of food and beverage handling and tasting at that show, so that may well be the worry. My missus was there but came back the moment it was called off, more out of fear of not being able to get a seat home than the virus.

Agree that the Disneyland situation is odd. Perhaps at Disney the greenback rules over everything else.

since your report Disneyland as at March 20th is now closed as are all Disney resorts. There are no Expos now running all closed. Sandals resort and most of the other resorts are closed also. fyi

Yes, massive interest indeed! Maybe it'll come out soon.

This is rubbish.. If you make statements like this then name names otherwise do not comment untruths.

Oh no!!  It's mutated into the dreaded Crooner Virus...

Many assume it was Salem, who was confirmed as having glandular fever at the time, not COVID-19

Of course Bernie E has sold the rights so he can say things like that.

Other than the European winter it's a sport that can be rescheduled if there is a will. The problem they have is crowd revenue as I think it will be September minimum before big crowds are allowed to gather and of course flight restrictions. Perfect weather in the Gulf Sates over December January along with Sochi, Vietnam and Singapore and of course Melbourne.

Where I am presently they make a large percentage of the world's surgical gloves and condoms. We are now in day 7 of a four week lockdown and I just read an article that the local condom maker who makes one in five of the world's condoms has ceased production due to the lockdown.

They predict a worldwide shortage if they don't start up production.

This may actually be the worst thread in the history of Demonland.

Is there an 'ignore' button for threads so I can not see it on the landing page?

I have to agree with that.

Too many trying to score political points and forgetting the issue at hand.

Sit down, Dave. It took you two weeks to stand up.

You’ve clearly got time on your hands, so go back and read all my comments and its context. It was on the same day where there was debate about another player (from North I think) who was falsely named in the media.

I was strong on NOT naming the name I heard for that very reason. That’s kinda responsible, right? The source of this particular murmur was very close to the player apparently involved and I felt it relevant to the topic at the time and worth sharing on this site.

So it seems the player had another ailment and was isolated as a precaution. Probably a good move, given the [censored] was just starting to hit the fan with the biggest global health crisis in a century, its crippling effects to be felt in every area of every individuals lives for months, years, even generations.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, isn’t it Dave?

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.
