OK, the positive:

Feeling a little chuffed as I have managed to arrange a site visit in Perth on the 23rd of March which means I will be able to get along to round 1 on the Sunday!  My first interstate game which hopefully is a good omen

The negative:

As I was going to be in Perth anyway I tried to just book a ticket through TM but none were available.  In the end I have booked through a link on the club's website and have signed up for a flight, accommodation and ticket package.    all seems a little too controlled for my liking.

Anyway - V excited - Go Dees!!

Interesting about the ticketing. I suspect that WCE like the Crows pretty well sell out their stadiums. That combined with the reserved seat revenue ensures that both are financial powerhouses.

Good luck

Lucky boy.

Hopefully you'll get the round 22 2018 experience as opposed to the 2018 prelim version.

For our Round 22 2018 match I purchased a premium ticket on the WC Members wing on a ticket reseller website and loved every single minute of it. Best day of football I've ever been to listening to those whingers whinge all day. Worth every overpriced cent I spent. Will only be topped by a Premiership.

According to the Optus Oval website,  general admission tickets are on sale from 28th of February. Even though this is round one I doubt it will be a complete sell out. Our last game there in May 2019 was only about 70% full. Capacity is over 60,000 I believe. I’ll buy one if I can’t get a ticket through my membership.

How lucky you were. I was at the prelim, and had the complete opposite experience to you.

So if you can make this a business trip you can claim it all as a tax expense. I'm looking at engaging an accountant in Brisbane at the moment for the same reason. ?

I attempted this but both @Ethan Tremblay & @McQueen bailed on me. :P

Well in my defence, after the round 22 win I was in Club 92 (eagles premium lounge) hanging [censored] on Trevor Nisbett.
And the preliminary? I’d bailed from the ground at halftime.

Next time without fail. ?

Ah! so i went early, funny that.  Never mind, my meeting is with the guys who built the stadium who reckoned that tickets for Weagles games were always scarce.  I definitely did not want to miss out!

Unfortunately for you I'm never going back to that rats nest. Prelim scarred me. I'm still deathly afraid of rubber inflatable eagles.

No, that was the first thing I asked but he said if if was a Freo game it would have been easy. Not so much for Weagles. At least this way I will hopefully be sitting with Demons

Most Eagles games are betw 50,000 and 56,000.

in 2019 From memory our crowd was about 51 500 odd.

I would expect about 53,000 Or certainly no More than 55,000 but it is an opening round.

Good luck Whoever goes and enjoy the game snd day

They are by far the biggest whingers and biased crowd in the AFL do if we Knock  'rm off We will have earned it.

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

    TRAINING: Wednesday 5th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
