No, but I can see a big possibility for the Redleg Urinal.

Just to provide an alternative view, they may have a very good idea of where the funding is coming from already without having it formalised in a business plan. They are probably in the process of getting the different parties to sign off on agreements of funding, to then finalise the business case.

Yes that is a possibility, but I can only judge them based on what is known, not what is supposed.

But nothing is known, so we are both speculating.

All we know is a feasibility plan has been ticked off and now they are working on a business plan. So you’re being a pessimist saying it won’t go ahead and I’m being an optimist.

I was listening to SEN on my way to the beach yesterday afternoon. Mr. Kanga, newly minted MRC chairman was being interviewed. Was certainly not enthused with the idea of the Demons moving into the precinct but was guarded in his comments and I got the impression from his comments that both the Scopus acquisition and MFC had been in the pipeline for quite some time and were well advanced. I suspect some had suggested to him to tone down the rhetoric.

BTW, the bay was quite nice, sea temps fairly warm for December 👌

As a tenant he does need to reign it in, otherwise the MRC might find they lose access to the Caulfield Racecourse for race days.

You can take the supporter out of Collingwood, but you can’t take the Collingwood out of the supporter.

1966-1970 I did honours Matriculation, meaning I failed the first go, as I only sat for 2 subjects, English and Music.

I was playing in bands and heading the wrong way, but my Parents intervened and life took a u-turn.

Cheers Redleg, my dad would have been there the same time 🙂

He also did Matriculation, only ever wanted to do Architecture at uni but the marks weren't high enough first time round.

Can you provide a summary for us cheap asses….

School will work with the MFC to help the MFC get what it wants.

There was also a bit about despite the Chairman’s dog walking, the MRC is working closely with the MFC.

Second article saying the project could be finished by 2028 and club has had feasibility approved and has moved to funding stage.

It is happening and hopefully finished in 4 years maybe less.

I’d be very surprised if it was done by 2028…. But would be ecstatic if it was. I just can’t wait for the day they announce everything has been signed off and it will be going ahead…. Will have a few drinks to celebrate

We could enlist students to provide in-depth training reports in a thread titled "Under The Microscopus".

I just realized I am in a pretty unique situation in this project.

I am a MFC member of about 50 years and former Executive Director of the Club, among other roles.

I am a Life Governor and member of the Foundation of Mt. Scopus College, with grand children attending the school. I am not a former student, as I went to Melbourne High School, which I am incidentally also a Life member of the MHSOBA ( the old boys association ).

I am also a member of the MRC and part owner of racehorses, including one running in the last race at Caulfield this saturday, which I hope doesn't " clam up " ( a hint as to which horse ).

I will see if I can engage any of the Committee for some info on Saturday, in the winner's room hopefully, after winning the last race.🤞

Send the above CV to Gary Pert and offer him your services ...

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.

Salem proved to be a valuable contributor as a reliable and solid one-on-one medium-sized defender in what was undoubtedly his most impressive season since the premiership year. He remains a highly capable rebounding option for the Demons as he approaches his 200th game at the club.
