I really liked the interview with Petracca from  the camp day 2.

The interviewer gave him a couple of good ins to talk about himself and how fit he is and how well he is travelling but he choose on both occasions to talk about the team. From what I have seen and heard he looks in absolute  ripping condition so he could of easily given himself some praise but didn't.

Good stuff Tracc - perfect attitude

i agree.  Hard to take much from an interview but he just exuded maturity and belief.

Crap music. If you can even call it music. Just have to be good on a computer.

I guess Baker and Dunkley (both injured) aren’t in Maroochydore.

Jonsey looks like he’s coming to the end in that pic.

But i reckon you are being super harsh in regard to his work rate and the implication he has not shown enough hunger.

The antidote to too much blind loyalty in support.  Some pay it back automatically;  and other need to be shoved off their 'security blanket perch' they have attached themselves to.

Petracca is the latter.   As was Gawn for the first half of his time with us...  and Petracca has reacted positively so far, to the stinging criticism...  as deep down he knew he wasn't putting it all out there for our club.

This year is really the first time he can get really fit

That's the sort of low expectations of our players,  which allows that casual approach and level of commitment to creep back into our culture.

Too much sympathy is detrimental to most young players...  give an inch, and a mile sneaks out.

Sympathy and praise in balance,  and it should be honest.

Petracca has had plenty of times to get himself fitter over the years by doing extra work away from the club on his own accord.    Just as he has done this year with some others in the US.

The pushing and critique has caused him the question his own past mental attitude...  and he has taken it upon himself to do much more away from the club.  He asked himself for the truth, and got his own answer,  and the rest so far this preseason, seems to be showing itself.

Time will tell how effective this will be,  throughout the course of the 2020 season.

All the critique Demonlander's have placed onto ANB over the seasons,  has not hurt his efforts to do his best...  he has become the leader of our running brigade over the past number of years,  establishing his career through the past few years.

Why can't Demonlander's see their inconsistencies based on playing favorites???

Can you guys not see why this club has failed to develop its higher draft choices... because everyone tells them how good they are,  all the time.   A false sense of security undermines their mental development and efforts.

Balance Balance Balance.

fear of failure is a driver to improve,  to change,  for the better.

I'll tell you something for free. You completety overestimate the impact of the opinions of demonlanders in particular and fans more generally.

OK...  its a lot of rot then, Bin.    fair enough you'ld know.

It's all about attitudes,  and we all have impacted our kids poorly over the years,  having a detrimental effect on them, and so their careers.

This is just nonsense on a stick. If you want a good Exhibit A as to what's going on with the players, watch the Oscar Mac interview, where he makes it clear that he ignores outside "noise", including having minimal exposure to social media.

Is that a scar on the back of his leg? If so, would that be from surgery to re-attach his hamstring? It's a reminder that players really do put their bodies on the line and we often underestimate how much physical damage and discomfort players are prepared to put themselves through to achieve success.

Maybe Bedford needs to work on his kicking

Gus doesn’t have much luck with this sort of stuff does he. Remember when ANB nailed him in the back of the head in a VFL game.

That was from when he injured himself against Geelong at Docklands/Telstra Dome/Etihad Stadium/Marvel Stadium.

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
