As Neale is the Reverend, would that make this book the bible?

Hope it sells well, I’ll certainly pick up a copy. I was reading an excerpt in the Hun last Sunday and having a fair old ?

Every chalet will have a copy in each bedroom drawer

Bleeedingly obvious statement, but this guy is an absolute legend.

The MFC should induct him into our Hall of Fame. Immediately.

As Neale lives in Melbourne, staggered he again missed out on this year’s ‘Victorian of the Year’ to go into the running for ‘Australian of the Year’. The courage and selfless dedication to finding a cure that will never help him deserves that recognition. 

Bought a Copy on the walk home. My local Book Shop had a few in the front window...

Not to be cynical considering it's about a much wider story, but how much 1998 - 2007 content is there?

Agree. Nothing against Archie Roach but how Neale has not been up for this gong just mystifies me. 5 years ago there was no funding to find a cure for mnd, he has now raised millions and millions so down the track people who get diagnosed in the future may have a cure while the man is going through this terrible disease himself. 

He is a remarkable man that after 5 years he is still is able to walk and has his speech even tough you can tell it's going on him. I guess behind the scenes we don't see the daily battles and it's sad he can't hold his grandchildren but then he finds another way to hold them. He is just amazing. 

I will buy his book and I think it's going to be very very popular. I reckon it's a book you will read and get a whole lot of inspiration from. 

The bloke is truly a legend and has done so much for sufferers of MND.

 I will buy the book at first opportunity.

Just read the forward and the first chapter, I suppose I should buy the book it's only $24 at big W but I'm too much of a tight [censored].

Nearly finished.  It's a fantastic read.  There's a bit on his time at Melbourne - the roller coaster is better than the merry go round!  No spoilers, suffice to say 6 finals series out of 9 completed seasons placed us second only to Essendon in terms of finals appearances from 1998-2006 for Victorian teams.  This with a club administration was totally dysfunctional for nearly all of that time. He was a wonderful coach.

I got this book for Christmas and knocked it over while camping with family in the last week, and it was an absolutely fantastic read. It’s his life story (obviously) but looking through an analytical lense — his philosophies in life in leadership and how they were shaped by his personal and professional experiences. 

You get some insight in to his time in to the MFC - in particular how he transformed himself over time, his relationship with Chris Fagan (his right hand man and underrated influence in the relative success over that period) and how the club never really gelled at any stage he was here (financial issues, revolving door board and CEOs and so forth), particularly in contrast with his stint at West Coast at the end. Personally I got more out of reading about his time at Essendon though as a player and then a coach. It painted Kevin Sheedy in a very different light for me. It even made me want to watch the 1993 grand final - puke!

Given that it’s heavy on the philosophical side of life, if it’s a yarn with all the gory details of the ins and outs of Neale’s time at the MFC (or anywhere else), this isn’t the book, but personally I lapped up every word and it cemented Neale as one of my life heroes and all time favourite footy people.

Got given it for Christmas and can’t wait to tuck in. It’s not often you get to read about the life of a superhero.
