No argument from me on his commentating being well below par. Wouldn’t know if he makes or doesn’t make stuff up. The rumours on up to 10 Crows’ players though have been strong for the last two months, more interested to see if it’s worthwhile poaching one of them. I hope we dip our toes in the water in regards to Laird.

I'd love us to go after Laird, Salem could move onto the wing and we'd strengthen 2 key positions instantly.

According to Dwayne Russell! Seriously can't believe any other media outlet would use him as a source, has to be the worst of all the commentators who makes things up to suit his port or cats agendas.

As much as I can’t stand Derrwayne he is well connected to people in Geelong, so I reckon there is merit here.

Pyke gone, crows in a bit of disarray.

Thats the only reason this seems plausible.

Why would the crows let an AA player walk out otherwise.

Maybe, I think he makes a heap of stuff up.

Jon Ralph came out an hour ago and said Laird was definitely staying.

A few more Crows will now stay too.

If we were to split the pick, I would very happily hand one of them over form Laird.

25 years old, 2 x All Australian, Best and Fairest winner, prolific ball winner and good user of the ball out of defence... sounds like what we've been crying out for for 10 years.

If we split the pick, we could offer then next year’s first (18) rather than 12/13 this year..... (just sayin’!)

I'd be having a chat with his management.

Are Adelaide going to be able to field a team next year?

Offer them our 2020 first rounder for Keith and Laird and back ourselves to improve next year.

Back our fitness staff to manage our defenders so they can front up and play more regularly.

If we go for Keith and Laird it will only be because we've lost Frost, won't trade for Langdon and possibly have little faith in Jetta and Hibbo playing with any continuity.

Our priority should be smart forwards before more defenders.

I feel Hibbo might be cooked to be honest. I hope he can bounce back to his best but he has been poor since his AA year.

Laird would be a good replacement for him. Cant see crows moving him on though, hes a gun!

I'm with a few posters. Hibberd is done. Has lost a couple of yards of pace and even though the effort is there, he's a shadow of the  2017 All-Australian.

Nev is a different player. More traditional lock-down of opposition's best small forward. Not sure he has long left either.

So Laird makes complete sense. He's the best going around for the role he plays but is easily worth a first round pick.

Offer them nothing happy with the backline if it gets on the field. Just happy with Tomlinson, Langdon and Elliott that will do me. Add Anderson and a small forward in the draft and I'll wet my pants.

I think Langdon will play further up the ground so that won't be a factor. but i think we desperately need on field leadership and experience and Laird can provide that and is a proven performer for right now.

Keith i quite like as a player personally and would rate him ahead of Sam Frost. Frost does some special things but his fundementals of footy aren't brilliant.

Agreed.  But not quite that excited!

Meaningless whisper unless @Ethan Tremblay can confirm it!

Basically a done deal to Brissy is what I’m hearing, make no mistake I’m of the understanding it could happen. #ETtheoriginalwhisperer. Also just heard his nickname at the Crows is ‘Basil’, interesting times ahead.

  • REPORT: Brisbane

“Max Gawn has been the heart and soul of the Dees for years now, but this recent recovery from a terrible start has been driven by him. He was everywhere again, and with the game in the balance, he took several key marks to keep the ball in the Dees forward half.” - The Monday Knee Jerk Reaction: Round Ten Of course, it wasn’t the efforts of one man that caused this monumental upset, but rather the work of the coach and his assistants and the other 22 players who took the ground, notably the likes of Jake Melksham, Christian Petracca, Clayton Oliver and Kozzie Pickett but Max has been magnificent in taking ownership of his team and its welfare under the fire of a calamitous 0-5 start to the season. On Sunday, he provided the leadership that was needed to face up to the reigning premier and top of the ladder Brisbane Lions on their home turf and to prevail after a slow start, during which the hosts led by as much as 24 points in the second quarter. Titus O’Reily is normally comedic in his descriptions of the football but this time, he was being deadly serious. The Demons have come from a long way back and, although they still sit in the bottom third of the AFL pack, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel as they look to drive home the momentum inspired in the past four or five weeks by Max the Magnificent who was under such great pressure in those dark, early days of the season.

  • CASEY: Southport

The Southport Sharks came to Casey. They saw and they conquered a team with 16 AFL-listed players who, for the most part, wasted their time on the ground and failed to earn their keep. For the first half, the Sharks were kept in the game by the Demons’ poor use of the football, it’s disposal getting worse the closer the team got to its own goal and moreover, it got worse as the game progressed. Make no mistake, Casey was far and away the better team in the first half, it was winning the ruck duels through Tom Campbell’s solid performance but it was the scoreboard that told the story.

Just a game and percentage outside the Top 8, the Demons return to Melbourne to face the Sydney Swans at the MCG, with a golden opportunity to build on the momentum from toppling the reigning premiers on their own turf. Who comes in, and who makes way?
