I think he will either stay or go to the Hawks. Noise seems to be heading thay way.

If thats indeed the case I really hope we're stepping up our search for a small forward elsewhere, i.e. Butler or Gray

Gut feel is Eddie will more than likely find "some way" of keeping him for a few more years (assuming no cronic injury concerns still overhanging).

“Please welcome Jamie Elliott to Emirates, our latest Emirates Australia Ambassador”.

As he turns up to the presentation he gets out of his brand new HSV Chevrolet Camaro.

Collingwood have an abundance of medium and small forwards and can afford to lose him. If they drive his price up and get a first round compo pick for losing him, they’d be laughing. If anything, they’ll be pushing him out the door, so I think we’ll land him.

i just hope his body holds up for us because he’s a proven goal kicker and we need him.

His manager said he is going away for a break (few weeks?) to think things over and a couple of offers were on the table.  My gut feel he would stay looking less likely.  More than likely the Hawks unless the offer from our end is too good to refuse.  Would be a great addition if body holds up.

Potential offer to Frosty held back pending this?

But we are a destination club !!

My wordy yes BBO.

Do you remember when all the Carlton players (I'm talking 30 years ago) used to finish up at StKilda? Please don't let us become that.

Agree. Going away for a few weeks to think things over is not what you want to hear if you are a pies fan keen to keep him!

Flabbergasted that we would let Frosty go before Oscar.

I don't really connect the two CBD.  Frost re-signing might somehow be linked to other deal/s or he just upped his price too high.  Or Goody & Co. just don't rate him.

My biggest concern would be, and i hope the talk / reports are incorrect, IF Goody &/or some within the FD believe O-Mac is depth and can cover off on the likes of Frosty (if needed).

Good luck to O-Mac at VFL level and hope he enjoys his footy there.  I'm sure he'll be fine outside of footy anyway with a Melb uni Bachelor of Science behind him once he graduates.  Smart cookie and could even go into golf if he wanted hitting off scratch.

Don’t be silly RTG !

It’ll never happen to us!

I mean ... we’re a powerhouse.. a rich , successful and progressive organisation.

Oh !

If we were into Elliott from the start of the year and Hawthorn were late on the scene, you'd think we would have a better deal in place compared to the Hawks.

Pies can't match any offers with Grundy asking for the world.

Oh !

You're right of course BBO. I fleetingly imagined us as a club without direction and significant financial backing. And with players not knocking down the door to join us.

That won't happen again.

Nurse, my medication please.

2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. There could be more of that in 2025. 2024 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence. The first round draft pick at #13 from twelve months ago the strongly built medium forward has had an impressive introduction to AFL football and is expected to spend more midfield moments as his career progresses.
