He's not a genuine winger, an average defender and a worse kick.

I'm glad list strategy hasn't been based on sentimentality in this instance. It rarely gets us into a good place.

i wish we were in the hunt for papley, but he's clearly going to the blues on big coin if he goes anywhere

Does anyone else think it's odd that we've not been linked to / visibly shown interest in Zak Jones?

Firstly for obvious reasons, secondly because he has genuine pace (unlike big bro) and plays somewhat unsociably...

He's asking for way too much.

Papley loves Papley. Wouldn't be surprised if he's asked for very big coin.

Elliott is the better player. Papley is a good player, but reckon we need someone with more zip than Papley.

Anyway, he clearly priced himself out of the market and nommed the Blues, so game over.

Elliott, Tomlinson and Langdon covered by Mahoney today. Any other wildcard trades??

It just means we've got those guys over the line. We don't tend to come out and say something and then have it fall over.

I hope we've got more up our sleeve as well.

The way we've signed up about 8 blokes I reckon we will target those 3 in particular and then turn to the draft and top up with kids.

Nice work Billy Stretch! Take the GC money and run mate!

Yeah go for it!!

Out of the Tomlinson, Elliot and Langdon, for mine, Langdon will end up the best get. I'm a little ambivalent about Tomlinson and Elliot will need to get on the park more. Happy enough if two out of the three do well. Then we aim to do well with the kids at the pointy end. I'd love MFC to take a punt on Kemp and they may if they have those three in the bag.

I know Mahoney shot down any rumour of a Brayshaw trade however I heard that Angus took a tour of Fremantle’s training base yesterday in Cockburn. Make of it what you will.

Langdon and pick 7 for Brayshaw?

Cerra, @Pennant St Dee?

i don't think there is anything to the rumors about Gus but if we hypothetically did trade him, i think we'd end up regretting it as much as the Tyson/Salem deal

Disagee, I think Papley has significantly more zip than Elliott, especially given Jamie's age and injury history. Elliott's the better player close to goal given his marking ability but Papley can do a lot more defensively, up the ground creating goals and can even rotate in to the midfield and be very handy on ball. The combined cost of the contract and draft picks are just too much for him. Him going to Carlton now reminds me of us signing Lever - and not to bad mouth the player or the deal - but it's the kind of big splash move you make once you've finished drafting a heap of talented kids and you can afford a luxury.

Would love Cerra as you know, but Gus isn't going anywhere and we need to keep him, He'll bounce back

Hearing whispers that Jacob Townsend of Richmond is going to be delisted, don’t know much about him, is he done or will he make it to another club?  #ETthetradebreaker.

His only saving grace is that he played for the Tigers, and it could be argued that their depth kept him out.

But you won't find me using that argument.  I can't see him getting a gig at another club.

I don’t think he’ll get another gig either. After doing a bit more research, I read he was delisted last season and picked up by Richmond again as a rookie after no other club wanted him as a DFA.

Saints have approached nearly every player in the AFL, about playing with them. Those missed have been sounded out by Carlton.

Saints apparently into Hill, Jones, Ryder, Butler and Howard, as named so far, while Blues into Papley, Martin, Butler and Betts.

I like Rotham as a player from the Eagles. He is going to be a very good player. Plays defence. However, I can see him playing outside midfield/wing and can push forward with his size. He is from WA. ??

Ben King, Casboult, Newnes, Farrel (PTA), Zac Langdon, Kamdyn McIntosh, Petruccelle should all be considered.

Cheers Dazzle, I had a text from a Freo mate, I’m guessing this is where it came from. Nothing to see here.

Sweet mother of Christ. If you’re treating text messages from Freo mates as legitimate intel worth posting you’re contribution to this Board is even more negligible than I ever thought it could be.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
