The Aussie cricket team gives a good blueprint for having experienced heads in mentoring roles. Steve Waugh sitting with the players watching the game is gold.

Hope the powers that be make it happen, he would be a very handy assistant or development coach. Have also heard some rumblings that we're interested in bringing James Hird to the club in some sort of role?

I like Richo  he would be a good fit  with the Dee's. A fresh face with a good persona will be a tremendous acquisition for Goody to have around him. Richo is a well respected person and has an abundance of experience and l hope that we can entice him.

Have we considered Mark 'Bomber' Thompson? Has multiple flags to his name and is now officially cleared of drug trafficing charges. Well worth a call I reckon and would be a good paxkage get with Hirdy.

Would you buy another if he helped us win a flag?

PS. I am not advocating getting him.

Richo is probably a very nice fellow but i'm not sure we really need, or can afford to pay for, a failed coach from another  failed club with a long history of failing.

He may not have succeeded as Senior Coach but he has an impressive CV as an Assistant, who is highly thought of by by past clubs and players.

Nicely devilishly advocated.

Actually  ...no. He's  vermin. I would not give my money to a club that employed him.

I've always thought StKilda a strange beast. Bit of a Bermuda triangle of Footy. I would certainly like Richo at Melbourne...quite happily have him as SENIOR coach actually.........

I have no doubt Mr Leg.  I am just seeking an edge which we haven't had for 55 years or so, barring a few years under Swooper.

He might be the perfect foil for Macca and prove me wrong should he end up in a the inner sanctum.

I believe Hayden Skipworth is on the radar. Currently looking after the midfield at Essendon

Apparently Phil Walsh (dec) thought the wolrd of him in his ability to relate to players and develop them. We saw the results a couple of weeks ago . I am not knocking Ratten , but these kids are the ones who RIcho has been developing. He has had no luck with a few longterm injuries etc (i.e. Mc Cartin and , the HB Flanker with Heart problems.  both of them quality players. )

We are clearly making some changes in the FD, as we need to.

I listened to Richo being interviewed and he has no desire to be a senior coach again. He sees himself as a development coach and that is his area of strength. As luck would have it we have a vacancy for a development coach with McCartney's departure. Rich is much more of a people person than the hard edge of Macca.

Already the club has recruited in a lot of youth with Sparrow, Jordan, Bedford, Dunkley and Chandler. If we don't trade of our high draft picks we will have 3 maybe 4 more kids come in.Fertile ground for a development coach to manufacture the next tier of players under Viney, Gus, Clarry and Harmes

IF we are going after Richo and land him can we at least put him in the coaches box vs the Saints to improve our chances of winning
