only thing i want to see is suns and carltank winning so that the former can't argue for a priority pick and the latter stay ahead of us on the ladder

I never thought I'd utter this sentence but ... We want Carlton to win as many games possible and get out of the bottom 6.

problem is there aren't many teams that we are likely to beat on this year's form.

Playing Freo twice and therefore having two.. did we do the right thing by trading Hogan ... games would not be good for those of us wanting to move on. Imagine double games against Hogan, Watts and even Kent with each playing their seasonal best.

I reckon the Suns are a chance.  Pies have half their best team out injured and maybe roughhead as well if still concussed. suns looked good last week.

aside from that I'd like Port to win, because they are playing essendon

and Hawks winning will be a nice reminder to North that they still suck, have no money and after their 'exhaustive search' of interviewing one person, are going no where

I've not checked exactly, but I beleive Collingwood have actually named their entire available playing list in selection, once you include the extended bench for sunday (which will become the emergencies of course). Officially 20 names on the injury list, though some are test.

Given that Collingwood's performance since the bye has been worse than the Demons maybe Gold Coast are in with a shot. Or would be, except they are tanking.

Meanwhile, Brisbane are down to 4 injuries, with three of those being '1-2 weeks', and West Coast and Richmond are a week away from having injury lists just as low.

Can we get the Hawks list manager?

mitch Lewis pick 76 after 12 games looks a beauty

Worpel pick 47.

7 clearances in the 1st quarter

Is Ben Brown the leagues premier diver? That’s two for the game so far, the best one was against Sicily, 7.8/10.

That one on half time was a cracker. Leaning back into Frawley and gets a free for holding. Umpires explanation: Prevented him from running at the ball. He was leaning back into Frawley, not trying to run.

He's a free kick machine Brown. I'd love him at the Dees, if only to see if he still gets paid all those frees.

I will be watching the Cricket ?

“Blitz ‘em over there...”

Theres an Ashes thread, drop in.

Interesting to notice over the last few weeks and particularly tonight.

The umps have obviously been instructed to call play on for kicks going backwards if they don't go a good 15+ metres...probably more like 20...

Marks are being paid for around half the distance when they go forward.

Another interpretation...

26k to an all melb fixture on a friday night Disgrace, didnt the Hawks claim 75k supporter base? where the f are they?

Hawks will be down for a while. See how many of their so called 75k members hang on for the journey.

Frawley looks cooked.

And Scully was very average.

These are the only things I seem to get any joy from this season. Sorry, there's also seeing the filth lose.

At docklands watching the Western magpies aka Port. Hardly a free seat in general admission. Port were going nicely.

Would hate to see essendon win another close one

Essendon moron fans booing a free kick to port. Umps have cheering for the dons all game. 12-7 free kicks

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
