Right so we’re a game behind a failed Carlton who sacked their coach. Only Melbourne could fall this low. [censored] hell.

Yep. With still 5 games to play....

North getting smashed by WC. I wouldn’t be too quick to sign up Shaw.

We could have beaten the premiers last week. So frustrating

Is it bad for me to want Carlton, Melbourne and Sydney to each win the next few and that way we finish off on a high AND get pick 2?

No-ones going to remember our 17th finish next year when we're back in the 8.

Sitting near a group of teenagers from the northern territory. Asked them if they thought our playing up there had increased our supporter level in the nt.

They all looked at me blankly and said...

No

Ask them if our playing up there has increased supporter numbers for Adelaide or the Eagles.

Gold coast v essendon 4:40. What sort of crowd will they get, not a great one I reckon.  In fact there may be more dons fans there.

yeah......ring the siren

Lol, Essendon robbed a certain goal by a non-review. Ball punched back in to play after it was a foot over and Suns just continued on with the game. Aren’t they allowed to stop play for a review?

Suns up by 26 pts half way through the third quarter.   Please make it happen!!

apparently a bombers kick was over the line and not given. Not reviewed. Classic

Oh well if we finish last, at least next year we cant go backwards. The number 1 pick will be a good young player for us. Ce la vie.

It is where we deserve to be...

Stop the game now. Suns 21 points up. I still expect the bummers to run over the top of them.

looks like you are right... where's all that dew when one needs it

Yep, and as soon as we post that, Bang right on cue Bummers kick 6 goals....cant win.

Wow, McKernan and Stringer celebrating goals like they’ve just won a flag.

They’ll win tonight but it’s effectively a loss due to the percentage they should’ve picked up against GC.

Look at Suns potential Day; King and Wright in the forward line. Compare that to Melbourne.

Interesting to see Gil on the TV - a tad dishevelled, tieless, engaged with his phone - obviously a big weekend on the Gold Coast - supporting his mates at Essendrug perhaps.

That score review is coming back to haunt them. Isnt that the 2nd one this year for them? My heart bleeds...

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
