Fair enough sack him tonight. Goodwin should have kicked those  5 gimme goals.

No forward line, 9-1 frees against and dumb goal kicking from our boys.

Did I say we should sack him?

Perhaps one of our coaches should tell the players where the wind is going and how to kick for goal? Or perhaps we should practice our skills? Or maybe ANB shouldn’t be getting games when he’s so bad?

I mentioned the umpiring is a disgrace but so is our skills and defensive efforts and that is 100% on the coaches

Reckon Viney has done his shoulder trying to do a meaningless hip and shoulder.

Edit - scratch that (for now). Still on the ground.

Petty should not wear the jumper again

unforgivable

At least one good move today is putting Fritsch up forward. Natural position for him and one he can finally play with no backline injuries.

Hunt is working extremely hard so far. He’s covering a fair bit of territory.

stop being so positive !

ANB is constantly on the ground. It’s like he plays horizontally.

He is seriously barely VFL standard at present Jaded.  In patches he might look VFL worthy but that's about it.

A cold chill gripped my heart when I realised BT is smarter than our playing squad.

Goodwin finally moved Fritsch forward. Took him about 15 rounds of reaction speed for Goodwin there.

Harmes steps directly back over his mark while assessing his options and is immediately called to play on "off the line...play on"

Umpires have a preconceived idea of who will win.

Great to see Bailey playing fwd at long last. He is a class above our other fwds

Omg this lady umpire is making me so angry. What a disgrace you are. From one lady to another, don’t quit your day job love!

Petty needs to work harder to get front position if he is going to play forward.

so many whistles then nobody knew what was going on

The female umpire just asked “Jake Lever” no 8 for the eagles to get back on the mark. The evidence of incompetence just continues to mount, minute by minute, game by game.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 2 Jacob van Rooyen

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

Salem proved to be a valuable contributor as a reliable and solid one-on-one medium-sized defender in what was undoubtedly his most impressive season since the premiership year. He remains a highly capable rebounding option for the Demons as he approaches his 200th game at the club.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

Following an injury-interrupted start to the season, McVee struggled to maintain the standard he established in 2025 as he pursued an expanded role within the team structure. He remained a firm fan favourite and the club had hoped to negotiate a new contract with the former rookie selection from Western Australia, whose partner, Lily Johnson, plays for Melbourne's AFLW side. Those hopes were dashed when he expressed his desire to return to his home state and play for Fremantle. Like all players who have worn the red and blue and are leaving this year, we wish him well in the future.
