Morris asks Mahoney about being linked strongly to Brad Hill..

Healy asks about trading Noah Anderson to Freo for Brad Hill (And probably extra picks/players back id expect)

Pick 2 for HIll would be a massive stretch, maybe pick 2 and our 3rd for Hill, Langdon and their first (pick 7)? Was that how it was put?

Healy just wanted to know if we would be using out first round pick or trading it I think. Doubt he was thinking he'd get a specific answer, just I think testing the waters on our attitude to trade week. Seeing if Mahoney would let something slip. Of course, he gave them nothing but ?shade

I spoke to a mate who has a fair bit to do with young Anderson and he said under no circumstances should we trade pick 2. said we will regret it bigtime even if we managed to sign Brad hill or someone of that sort. I wonder if we could role the dice on our 2020 first rounder and a later pick and try and land Hill and Langdon

I don’t think we will get Anderson anyway.  I think GC will get the 1st 2 picks in the draft.

I seriously doubt it. i think they'll get their first pick, an end of first round pick and some other help. i don't think the AFL will like the precedent it'll set to give them that pick.

Dees without doubt need to keep Pick 2.

I know the club is into I think it’s 4th year of a 5 year plan to win a premiership. But trading away an Anderson is beyond stupid. Aka Josh Kelly trade...

Trade a senior player or two and 2nd round pick for Langdon and Hill if we are chasing both. I believe Freo will ask for Brayshaw...

As if the AFL follows precedents and not media spun whims. The whole Pick 1&2 GCS issue has arisen solely because Tiny Cochring brought up player retention and the friendship of those two picks with the Media then promoting it. it's up to the other clubs to kick up a stink to prevent it, not trust in the AFL

And i've got no doubt they already are. i really think they should consider the Mini draft as a solution instead of impacting the 2019 draft. so essentially they get to pick 3 talents from the 2020 pool and offer them up a year early in exchange for a trade. i think that'd net the Gold coast suns at the least 3 very good draft selections in addition to their current one and wouldn't compromise the 2019 draft.

The only way I can see gc17 not being given a pointy end priority pick is if they somehow win two of their remaining four games

AFL will do everything in their power to give them a massive leg up

Could be jumping at shadows there; GC manipulating the media to get some kind of assistance, (maybe end of first round, PP), but pick 2 after their large haul of talent last year seems way too rich.

Pick 2 has to be off the table as we can’t pass on the opportunity of a pick at the pointy end of the draft.

Don’t mind the idea of our 2020 1st rounder being on the table though.

Drop a 2020 1st rounder on the table and back ourselves to climb while hoping we nab Anderson. Thing is our trade period is going to come down to what happens at the Suns. Do the Suns want Anderson or Rowell? Do the AFL want to give the Suns picks 1 and 2 or 1 and 19. Either way that changes our plans on trades. We are, as of right now could be trading pick 20 for Langdon and Freo want a first for Hill. Only way i see it happening is if we trade a future 1st round pick but i doubt Freo bite. However, it is freo and they like shooting themselves in the foot more than we do.

Brad Hill is everything we are looking for and is now in his prime.

If they give up pick 2 for pick 7 and get Hill I would do it in a heart beat.

There are no guarantees with Anderson and if GC take him, then we don’t need another inside mid like Rowell

Must keep pick 2 at all costs. i'd be offering our 2020 first round pick and our 2019 second round pick for Hill and Langdon, and a later pick or something like that. and bank on us not finishing down the bottom again.

if we can add in Hill, Langdon and Anderson i think we are in a good spot, especially if we look at maybe a Dan Butler for some forward pressure and a key forward, even a short term solution to support Tommy

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session.
