Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

O'Mac is a much better defender when Lever is in the team based on 2018 results. Thou he is playing like crap and certainly needs to go back to the reserves. I would like to see him take on a forward/ruck role. Versatility is not a bad thing. I could see in the future 2020 that May may become a forward. In Preuss out Garlett. so far.

If May plays on Hogan, I expect the result of that single contest will be simplistically viewed by some as a proxy as to whether we "won" or lost on those two trades.

Nonetheless will be an interesting dual. Watching Freo playing pa at the minute and Hogan shades of his better form. We miss him as someone that would run all the way down the ground to take a mark or crash a pack.

It is clear we lost on the trade irrespective of the match up. Hogan has taken more marks this year than our whole forward line. We gave up a high draft pick and May has only really played one game is yet to have a good game where he beats or even slows down an opponent.

I watched May fairly closely, and thought he had a really good game.  He added leadership to the back half, did a lot of little things, used his body well, positioned himself well and attacked the contests.  For a first game (I’m discounting the quarter he played earlier in the year), he gets a big tick from me.

What right has May got to pretend to be a leader - he has not proved anything at this club yet. He is a mouthy blowhard who needs to focus on his own game if he is going to make it. He was not signed to tell others who have earned and played more games this year, what to do. May was not even a road bump slowing the pies path to the goals. Don't believe all the hyperbole about May. He is an ordinary footballer who will struggle to be best 22 next year. He does not read play well and is unable to lock down an opponent.

Freo were merciless today.  Reminded me of how we played the finals.

Can't see us winning next week.  But I hope we bring some of the ferocity of our finals series.  If we don't Freo will smash us and not just on the scoreboard. ?

Hogan has 72. Melksham alone has 48. Then Tom Mac 43, Hunt 40 etc. etc.

Just nonsense.

Unless you know what he does around the club, I don’t think your views relating to his leadership are fully informed.  He provides leadership onfield in that back 6 by virtue of his experience.  Are you wanting JWags to lead the group? Hore?  I am not sucked in by others, I made my own judgements of his performance on the day.  I feel your view of his performance is overly harsh, and I wonder who you think will replace him in the best 22 next year?  Kielty?  Petty? OMac?  He and Lever are going to be important pillars of our defence for the next few years.  When they get co-ordinated and in synch, I can see them being lauded as perhaps the best defensive KP structure in the AFL.

Walters is going to have a day out playing on us.

Hogan would be licking his lips having moved to freo.

Most of us thought when he moved he wouldn’t get good delivery of the pill, welll how wrong were we.

Who would have thought we would be down the bottom of the ladder this season and freo would be above us!!!!!!

Somehow we’re actually favourites for this game according to Sportsbet.

I’m not worried about Hogan. His goal kicking issues are just as bad and he’ll be too much inside his head to play well against us.

Walters is a very good player but I feel Hibberd might be ok for him.

I’m more worried about Fyfe and Hill.

This game will be a real slog. It’ll be low scoring and if we win it’ll be less than 20pts.

Can’t believe we are favourites wtf is wrong with these betting agencies!!

I am not that worried about Hogan but agree Fyfe, Hill and Walters are our main issues

Also I’m most worried about our own back yard in regards to our kicking, hand balling, marking and kicking for goal

if we continue the way we have this season then we are no chance

Agree that Hogan shouldn't be our biggest concern.

It's Walters that scares me most. He's a genuine superstar and we don't really have anyone who is fast enough or smart enough to deal with him.

That is interesting. The midget Spargo has taken 23 marks to ANB 9 in the same amount of games.

To be fair though, ANB has had at least 2 games cut short with injury, not that that would make a difference of 14 marks of course.

Stop it.. you are making far too much sense in this post ?

Omac will be lucky to get another game this year if May and Lever put in those solid performance each week. They'll only get better with more match fitness too.

Ok so what would O Mac attract as a trade??

Hunt to play lock down role.... Oh wait a minute isn't he our leading goalkicker?? Yikes!!

GARBAGE, shows more leadership then Viney and possibly Jones ON FIELD!

Both our captains tend to lead by example rather than on-field vocal coaching types a la Lewis & Hodge.

And unfortunately, with the exception of Jones on a few occasions only, neither has been able to lead by example!

    DEPTH CHARGE by Whispering Jack

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. The victory over one of the big dogs of the competition after a succession of wins over some of its lesser lights gave his team respect and validation fo

    HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. By the time they worked out it was game on, their opponents from Box Hill had accumulated five goals and, if the game wasn’t over, it might as well have been. For a se

A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
