You Can't blame the kid for missing GEEZ! we are all feeling it. Looks like the season is now done but it is heartbreaking  for the Weid and Gawny for missing set shots. I am shattered as most of us are but have to now somehow get over it like every other game.

This one hurts so so much.

At least Weid took the contested mark. It was just lucky he marked it. It was a kick in hope from Wagner.

Games of football are made up of 1000s of moments, that miss didn’t cost us the game. It was all those other misses put together that cost us the game. Bad set shots on goal cost you games as so evident tonight.

Im so glad I’ll probably never see Oscar McDonald in a Melbourne jumper though. Can’t wait to welcome back May and Lever.

Also, oMac should have never been on Jenkins - Frost should have.

Game changed when Maxy dropped a sitter at half forward.

Thought finais were still possible but that has broken my positivity. [censored] the lot of them.

let's be positive... we may have thrown it away but I think it's our smallest loss for this irrelevant season.. perhaps we are improving

disgraceful

That is a choke of the highest order; like the West Coast game.

Just end the season now, I'm bloody sick of it.

Oscar had 2 goals kicked on him, not a great game but really. We lost it up forward, set shots missed, Max, Hunt, Smith, Weid, then dropped chest marks, Jeffy, the list goes on. The Crows had half the opportunities but nailed most of them. If you can’t finish you can’t win, it is that simple.

Oscar had a goal kicked on him in the most critical part of the game when he was laying a full tackle on Jenkins. Only Oscar

I honestly think we need a mini rebuild, I'd trade Tracc, Weid, Fritsch, maybe even Brayshaw for some currency and delist Nate Jones, Lewis, OMac, Garlett, Among others. Play the kids for the rest of the year, what's the point of this season now?

Haha not required. Petracca was solid tonight.

Lewis will 100% be gone end of this year and may even retire early and get a farewell game.

Jones will play next season and looks decent at half back.

Garlett may be delisted depending on who we recruit and OMac will be kept as depth.

Bloody hell we lead for 115 minutes of that game. We had 17 more inside 50's. WE kicked 1-8 in that final term. I was confident Weiderman would kick that, but it wasn't just his fault. Gawn had a chance, Hunt missed an easy one in the 3rd and bloody Jeffy misses set shots.

We let Betts off the leash in that last quarter, they kicked the last 5 of the game. Im sorry but Oscar was a liability tonight down back. WE just lost all composure.

Ugh we should have banked those 4 points. That was worse then the WC game. Goodwin should give them a spray but he probably wont.

That hurts.

Has Goodwin ever given them a spray?

Agrees - bad kicking is bad football and we should have kicked 20 goals tonight. However Oscar had provided a service but its time to move on. If he is in the side next week then we are tanking.

We need to get out of that fungus ridden, worm infested place Darwin. Leave it to the crocodiles.

Unbelievable statement. One ground, 2 teams and we lost it not Crows winning it. Wasn't the ground or Darwin. Wake up to yourself

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
