He had several concussion episodes in the 18 months before the brick incident, which was in 2017 preseason.

On a side note, just read that Paddy McCartin has been put on the LTI list and still can't train.  Really sad for him.

So while it is disappointing to lose Salem today I'm glad the club is being cautious, especially with his history.

Concussion symptoms come and go.  He may have been fine a few days ago but not today.

Even if he hadn't fully recovered by selection time, I reckon the club hoped he would be good by game time.

Either way we did the right thing to wait till the last minute and to pull him out when found to not be ok.

I hope McCartin retires. It seems negligent if someone doesnt ask him to pull the pin.

KK one more away from retiring too surely.

Better hurry up and get to the ground folks. Only 20 minutes until the first bounce and there's only 90, 95 thousand seats left.

Looks empty.

Minus 2 of the usuals today as I’m overseas. Still watching tho.

Bizarre. 9 days as well. Surely it wasn't just a "wait and see how you wake up oj game day"? If he was still showing symptoms after 6-7 days it's a given he isn't playing. The FD is a joke.

Ever heard of giving a player every chance to play?

I was contemplating which game to go to today when I heard the news on radio changed direction and now at Willy. Weather not too bad so far considering we are taking about this ground. I thought I would gain more watching a few of the injured coming back.

Getting destroyed so far. Have we hit a target by foot yet?

I’m done with Stretch.

We got away with two HTBs then. Umps might be on our side today.

3 inside 50s three horrendous kicks straight to opposition

Edited by —coach—

What have we done to improve our clear issues this year? Because it seems we are just bringing in poor user after poor user

How many weeks in a row do we have to watch the same Cr ap fwd 50 entries/turn overs...

FMD they look in a different league. If they could kick it would be game over already.

Melbourne, I understand the rationale behind this but we CANNOT play the kick-mark game. Our only hope is to move it quick, if there's turnovers doing that so be it. Rather that than a 10 second mark and long kick to the opposition

It's Game Day on Friday night. ANZAC Eve. The big stage at the ‘G. Under the lights, in front of a packed house, this is where moments are made. Can the Dees rise to the occasion and deliver on the big stage, or will Richmond spoil the night? Round 7 is here, with the ANZAC commemoration games taking centre stage. Who are you tipping this week, and which results would be most favourable for the Demons?

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

Who would have imagined, when the season kicked off early last month, that Melbourne would emerge from the opening six weeks with wins over both Queensland powerhouses? At the time, Gold Coast and Brisbane were the competition’s early pace-setters, the flavours of the month, and the prospect of the Demons toppling both within the course of a fortnight seemed remote. Yet here they are, banking those scalps alongside home victories over two traditional Victorian rivals and building a quietly impressive resume.

Before Sunday, the last time the Brisbane Lions had walked onto the turf of the Melbourne Cricket Ground, they celebrated the pinnacle of the sport - an AFL premiership secured in emphatic fashion for the second consecutive year.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

From the outset, the Casey Demons lacked any spring in their steps. They were out-hustled and out-bustled and finally outplayed by the Brisbane Lions by 38 points on their home turf in perfect conditions at Casey Fields.
