Paul Roos now saying that May wasn't the only player who turned up unfit. His understanding that a few players turned up unfit which didn't please the coaching staff.... ?‍♂️

Oh and Dave Misson can just GTFO out now. Joel Smith, Steven May and then giving Jetta the all clear to play when CLEARLY he was completely underdone and hindered.

Except that it's not Misson's responsibility to clear players to play or not.

But heh, facts.

Why in the hell would the read what is on this site, and don't tell me that Pert would read it for supporter backlash.

Well there it is. Roos has confirmed what most of us have been saying - that a substantial part of the list fronted up for preseason unfit. Someone has dropped the ball bigtime and needs to be held to account. It makes the Club look like a pack of amateurs. Completely inexcusable.

Pretty typical Melbourne really. Make a prelim and think “flag is in the bag I’ll go get wasted and fat in the pre season”. Our players are a pack of lazy amateurs if this is true.

Jesus this club will never be successful will it? It’s just an endless cycle of misery and failure.

If true, Gawn must have been talking to himself during his B&F speech.

No. Misson ticks off on fitness, not injuries. He's not a doctor.

Can the players that had post-season surgeries be excused from returning unfit? Genuine question, not sure what programs they would be on while recovering in the off season unless all they did was drink.

Roos does bring that up in the article.

I think he is getting at the fact that some should have come back in better nick, while others weren't in a position to come back fit.

This is so disgusting. A pathetic club culture from the top down. I'll get howled down but imo the members should boycott at this stage. Totally unacceptable by Goodwin and co. And the players...?

There was so much turnover of staff and players during the Neeld and Roos years that I would have no idea who's left - but something is rotten at the heart of this club's culture

A simple solution would be for everyone to meet in person once a year and explain themselves. There are quite a few keyboard warriors who write stuff here that there is no way they would say in person. I'd suggest that before posting people should ask themselves if they would say in person what they are posting.

Lever may be ???

But the player we did not get with that other 1st Rnd pick,  never will be, for us.

I think from memory,  it would have been  'Higgins',  from my  'wanted list',  at least.

Higgins is ok but nothing special.

It’s up to players to turn up in shape.

    HIGHLIGHTS/LOWLIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Melbourne traveled across the continent to take on the Fremantle Dockers in sweltering conditions at Mandurah south of Perth in a game that delivered the club both its highlight and its lowlight in the first minute.  But first, let’s start by doing away with the usual cliches used in connection with the game. It was just a practice match and the result didn’t matter. Bad kicking is bad football. The game was played in severe heat, the swirly breeze played havoc with both teams resulting in

A couple of Demonland Trackwatchers headed down to Gosch's Paddock to bring you their observations from today's training session before the Demons head off to Perth for their final Practice Match. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Beautiful morning, not much wind, more than a couple of dozen spectators.  The players were up and about, boisterous and having fun. One of their last drills were three teams competing in a hard at it, handball game in a small area. Goody

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
