Hopefully, our midfield cuts loose this quarter. Max is giving silver service. Time that they took advantage of it.

Need Viney, Brayshaw and Oliver to have a HUGE quarter

Winning hitouts 38-5 but losing clearances, something has to change to throw them off. Oliver to F50, Jones guts, what else?

Who the Freakin’ Hell is Max tapping it too? He’s bounce passing it off the deck to Swans players every EFFING time – work it out!!!

Regardless of the outcome here...that half was an out and out disgrace. Minus 10 in contested possessions. Only 4 more tackles despite 50 less possessions. Behind at every single contest. Fumbling every time we go near the ball with any pace and any opportunity to break it open. Key defenders who would be poor in state league. Constantly taking opponents high as we're second to the ball and re-actively aggressive. Hard to see this ending well.

Amazing we are still in it, no help from the umpires either, they are [censored]. Max dominating the hit outs but always finding a Swans player but in that quarter I am not sure it is his fault, our mids just aren’t at his feet. Are our guys just dumb? They can only take one instruction at a time, they have been instructed to concentrate on the defensive side of their game during the week, so now they have forgotten about getting the ball first.

I have this feeling in my bones - call it a vibe - that we’re going to win this and win it well.

We’re playing poorly but are only a goal behind.

We can do much better than this and it’s time to rise to the occasion.

Not a bad first half. Similar to last week.

our intent is better, but the swans set up so well around the ball far better than us. Making our ruck dominance pointless.

we are still in and need to keep up the pressure

what’s with the  half time drivel for a horse! During the footy.

He came back on but only has 1 wing. Clearly couldn't use both arms and no longer rucking.

Needs to throw his weight around and cause a bit of damage. Caution (and Michael Christian) into the wind

Agree but will take a six point deficit as we were slaughtered. So many players who do nothing

Half time summary

Swans should be 4-5 goals up

inside 50  swans 35 Dees 22

good- Jones goals; ruckwork; Melksham, accurate shots at goal

poor - Omcd (shocker again!!); fumbles still ; missed tackles, turnovers. Kicking efficiency 64%!! Familiar tale of these proving costly

Its about time Max took some marks around the ground...   a small ground like this he should be able to get to most aerial contests.   He does Not mark enough around the ground.

He tried and came off second best. Certainly agree with you though

Nail on the head. I think our captains are the leaders in this area too.

Dumb and dumber.

Viney proved this with his interview this week.

Jonesy just continues to kick to the oppositions defenders advantage (or straight down their throats)

How much better does Viney look when he attacks the ball. A ripper tackle that quarter.  reminds me of the Viney we all love

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
