Backline is under siege and not working well together. Our midfield looks like they couldn't give a [censored] though. They've barely hit a target at all so far. Lucky to be this close on the scoreboard.

Trac looks strong and involved though!

Tracc has a little fire burning under his backside, this year.

Need Lever back desperately.

A lot of new guys down back and it looks a mess. Need to get themselves working together ASAP.

Defending all over the ground has been horrible so far.

It's very concerning that we are conceding so many points against us. 113 against the Tigers and already 26 against the Lions and it's not even 20 minutes in.

Someone on Demonland and Hudson on Foxtel both reported it.

Yeah I was referring to Hudson.

Hore should have punched then. He can intercept well when uncontested, but his actual defending on first few matches has been poor. We'll be far better off when he is out of the team and Lever returns.

4-1 and we lost that contest. Defensive efforts are non existent today.

Shambolic. A skeleton just beat 3 defenders. If you can call them defenders.

sack goodwin

Not if its only an arm

We've leaked like a sieve all preseason. Hopefully we step up our defensive intensity come the real stuff, or we're going to be in for a rude shock and a drop down the ladder. Our mids are a super talented bunch, but they've still got to work hard both ways.

Hunt as a forward looks great.

We may well have found his position.

He's too good of a talent for the FD not to have a position for him.  And he has the pace and goal kicking nous to play a couple of different roles in the forward line.

If you were an opposition defender he'd be a concern.

Hands in the back rule already a farce. Took them 10 years to get the umpiring right now they’ve changed it again.

Spargo and Hunt looking good.

Vanders could get a week for that

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
