Their foray into formula 1 was not that successful.

Lovely logo though and it's nice to have something on the jumper that people actually know.

Took me years to work out who in the hell SEW were on the Hawks jumper !!

Almost bought one  a couple of years back. Out of the West the luxury cars were going relatively cheaply after the mining boom came to an end.

The F1 team was bought out by Red Bull, so they had part of it right  still use the same factory

Probably never put in the top $$$’s

but Tom Walkinshaw had huge success

Ever seen inside a Jaguar Dashboard from the 80’s with the top off?

Scary Stuff :)

A mate had an XJ6 for years, she was beautiful to ride in, but a nightmare if the electrics went dodgy!!

C'mon guys, why cant we all just support our new sponsor without the negatives.

I have been waiting for Jaguar to sponsor us just so i have an excuse to buy the worlds best sounding car.  The Jaguar F-Type SVR

I ordered this after the announcement.....

Feast your ears on this little beauty.

I agree beeb but as a car they are ok, Opel build nice cars.  Ford did a much better job of phasing out local production, it helps to have the Mustang. Anyway the Opel sponsorship is moot.

Grateful to all sponsors so welcome Jag, still would have been funny had it been a Range Rover sponsorship.

Would we all have been forced to get constant updates on the club website about the 2013 MFC administration and about how he was right in the end if Rangey had sponsored the club? ;)

Does anyone know the commercial terms?

Great news to have the BOJ sponsor secured prior to Round 1. It shouldn't be difficult, but it has been.

according to some media types, it has to be a minimum 7-figure deal per annum in order to get around the afl's no-compete clause for their official major partner, toyota

so even if it's a one-year deal it's still of a greater value than the i-select deal, which was rumoured to be about $1m for both aflw and afl boj co-major partner sponsorship

I would imagine it’s not easy to get any company to invest $1m+ per annum in a sponsorship these days.  Well done to MFC.  Hope it turns into a longer term deal.

I'm pretty sure the captains got cars from AHG. I wonder if they'll get a JAG out of this sponsorship. Incentive to get into the leadership group.

Risky we want them to get to matches on time.

Gimme that members discount.

Yep, can't wait for the "We win, you win" promo. A Jag would look very nice in the car hole next to the Austin-Healey.

It's a damn fine looking logo that's for sure.

Much better than the iSelect orange box.

Could see a few jumpers sold this year ;)

Good news, it's just a shame it's only one year because we need out get out of this cycle of not having a sponsor when retail jumpers are made for the upcoming season.

Practical point of view and it makes good sense, Clint. Overall, I'd like the Club jumper to traditionalise - similar to the earlier days of the 70s and 80s - with advertising if one must to meet the costs associated with footy these days as sponsors do much for our current circumstances. I'd really like to buy a MFC jumper for each of my grandsons to wear (for about 2 years as they will grow out of them so quickly) but as you say, sponsor on, sponser off, new sponsors, old or passed sponsors make this similarly confusing and redundant for such a purpose - and for brand recognition associated with the MFC. Them's the breaks!

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
