Thanks guys.  Enjoyed it as usual.  The highlight for me was Josh saying that Jake Lever will be travelling to the States in January, to undertake the same intensive post knee reco rehab program that Tracc did.  I hadn't heard that before.

Just listened to it - well done as always chaps.

I was wondering though, do you have to supply the interviewee with the questions in advance of the interview and if so, did Josh hit any of them on the head and if so, what did he want to avoid?

TIA

We've never been asked to supply questions in advance.

There's no way May goes no.1 this year.

I rate him highly and think our team/list is more balanced with May over Hogan, but he wouldn't go near no.1.

we believe he is worth at least pick 6. otherwise we would have gone to the draft.

He's worth pick 6 to us.  Our days of piling up kids are gone.  We're trying to win a flag in 2019.

If he was a 27 year old in an open draft this year I doubt he goes top 10.

Completely agree with @It's Time on Jones. His decision making is a real worry. Under the pump in 2018 he coughed it up a lot. And his inside 50s have always been ordinary - they're very Brent Moloney. Long and hopeful.

But as you say, there is a romanticism about Jones holding up the cup, which I can understand, but it's clouding people's judgement on where he's at and his value to the team.

I reckon Jones needs to play the forward pressure role ANB has and hope he can make a mark there, because if KK comes in and makes a mark, Jones won't have a wing position. I'd play Fritsch, KK and Harmes there.

After Harmes performance in the second half of the year we are unlikely to see him in anything but a run with role in which he wins plenty of his own ball.

Must be clouding the FDs judgement too.  Still waiting to hear your explanation of his 4th finish in the BnF?

Not working for me... have tried and tried and i get nothing.

Oh well, i cbf'd listening for over an hr anyway.

Back to Scotch, Netflix,.Redtube

Definitely the Scotch.

The good thing is they won't be rushing back Lever. I would hate to see him do another knee for the third time. Give him the 12 months off and I don't expect him to be back in the team until Rnd 10.

Why didn't you ask Josh if we were picking up a delisted free agent this year?

Good show?

Critics are raving about it.

Lots of Jones haters on here pretending to be Dees supporters.

Like Fifty stated and I categorically agree, how does he finish 4th in the BnF?

Why does his position in the bnF have any bearing on the conversation over his role in the team moving forward? Clarko didn't roll out the red carpet of a long contract for Lewis or Mitchell after they finished in the top 2 or 3 of their bNf. He saw the writing on the wall that a 3 years contract was not going to benefit the team, and traded them somewhere that would benefit them individually. I'm not suggesting anything like that, i'm only suggesting that having the conversation about Jones, his strengths and weaknesses and his role or position in the team next year and the years after, does not make you a hater.

  • Thank You Simon Goodwin

As Demon fans, we’ve ridden a rollercoaster of emotions over the decades; the heartbreaks, the near misses, the wooden spoons, and the endless waiting. But through it all, we clung to hope. And then came Simon Goodwin. Before he ever wore red and blue, he was a champion in his own right. A five-time All-Australian, two-time Best and Fairest, and two-time premiership hero and Captain with Adelaide, Simon Goodwin was always destined to lead. When he transitioned from the field to the coach's box, first as an assistant at Essendon, he began shaping a new legacy.

  • PREVIEW: Western Bulldogs

Long ago and far away, the Melbourne Football Club replaced its coach in difficult circumstances after the team suffered a devastating loss. In the aftermath, I penned the following words: “Then came the politics, the intrigue, the axing, the sound of the football world laughing at a club, the circling of the media vultures, the reinvention of history, the anger, the irony, the pathos, the hurt on the face of the president, the dignified departure of the coach, and the determination of the newly appointed caretaker.” Today, we’re back in the same place although one difference here is that the coach who was terminated this time is Simon Goodwin, the man who four years ago

  • REPORT: West Coast

The Charles Dickens novel, A Tale of Two Cities, opens with, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, …”  This phrase highlights many of the significant challenges that humanity encounters in life, ranging from experiencing remarkable highs to living in times of despair. This is a concept that should resonate with all supporters of the Melbourne Football Club this morning as they reflect on its comprehensive 83-point victory over the struggling West Coast Eagles at Marvel Stadium. The outcome proved beyond doubt that they are the worst of clubs and that we are the best of the worst.
