A rumour site going with Zac Jones looking at the Dees.

If AvB is gone, in a heart beat. Gives us that outside speed that we lack. I know decision making isn't Zak's strength, but this can be worked on. It's not as if vanders was a precision user of the footy either.

FM Daniel [censored] Menzel. I question if people actually watch football. He’s the biggest downhill skiing, one way footballer going around.

Perfect pick up for Port...

So do you think we should get him?

Big rumour around Carlton going after Josh Kelly.

I’ve seen Luke Parker’s name mentioned in connection to the Dees on Twitter but I have no idea of the validity of the info.

"Me wanting to leave this club??? No chance," Parker wrote.  18 Sept on Instagram

Parker is signed at Sydney until the end of 2021

"I was very surprised to hear about trade rumours regarding Luke Parker," Sydney Swans head of football Harley said."I can unequivocally deny those rumours, we've spoken to Luke on Wednesday and he's fully invested with the Swans and we won't be trading him under any circumstances at all."

Means he already has one foot out the door.

I agree... we can take little steps, that help as we move along the pathway.

Too many right off the little steps, in favour of giant strides, or they want the status quo to remain... but it can't, because AVB is going to be closer to family in need. every-time we take another who is full of go we move further away from those players and years where 'not-going' was a feature of US.

Zac Jones, good... bring him in, and May as well... and we can work on the skilled players at the same time thru KK and others.

But the main ingredient is...  "GO"

Just stirring a few Port mates as we speak. They love a recycled reject Port.

Sounds pretty strong.  As I said I couldn’t vouch for the strength of the rumour.  With Hannebery going I can’t see it happening.

At the moment, that is true. He also bombs away just like Nathan did early in his career and that is something that we do not need.

Is Nathan still early is his career?

You know some Port supporters? ?

Nathan no longer bombs it to the opposition.

He now lowers his eyes and picks them out with precision...

He still does both unfortunately and apart from pace, I'd much prefer Fritsch on a wing than Zak Jones and I'd much prefer Salem off half back than Zak Jones.

was told by a drunken port supporter we were keen on chad Wingard.... god I hope his drunken ramblings were just drunken ramblings

If we're not paying much for Wingard and the FD think they can get consistency out of him, he's exactly the sort of player our forwardline and midfield lacks. I'd be all over him.

He'd cost a top 10 pick, I fear.

You mean a $1m a year player who doesn’t chase and will cost you 2 first round picks as stated by Port . Don’t think we lack that.

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. • FEATURE: 1925

A hundred years ago today, on 2 May 1925, Melbourne kicked off the new season with a 47 point victory over St Kilda to take top place on the VFL ladder after the opening round of the new season.  Top place was a relatively unknown position for the team then known as the “Fuchsias.” They had finished last in 1923 and rose by only one place in the following year although the final home and away round heralded a promise of things to come when they surprised the eventual premiers Essendon. That victory set the stage for more improvement and it came rapidly. In this series, I will tell the story of how the 1925 season unfolded for the Melbourne Football Club and how it made the VFL finals for the first time in a decade on the way to the ultimate triumph a year later.
