I'll just leave this one here.

Quite frankly that looks completely normal to me and seems like it was forever to be so.

Its going to take a while to get use to that picture as I don't hate the guy.

Where as Tom Scully …..

your completely wrong. We had a once in a generation key forward and gave him a way for peanuts. If it makes you fell warm and fuzzy by saying that he will return then good luck to you .He has gone .End of story .

This is pure speculation and I’m not referring to Jesse specifically at all, but if you consider the circumstances he is in and the events that have occurred in his life in recent times... I can imagine a man of that age might be going through an emotional rollercoaster, that footy might not seem the most important consideration in his decision-making processes, and he might make some poor decisions off-field, with all the trappings that come along with being a high profile footballer. He might indulge in certain things he shouldn’t, possibly far in excess of the odd cigarette, and it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that those tendencies might become “open secrets” that would even make it difficult to get a great return for him if you were to trade him. Especially if he were to be careless about who witnessed these indulgences. Compound that with a “go home” tendency, a dodgy injury, and an aloof character, and it’s not painting a great picture.

Just imagine for a second that all those things were to eventuate for this hypothetical player; do you think that what Mahoney received in return for Hogan might be actually a great result?

Maybe worth considering. We don’t all know the full details at play here, so maybe we’ve done pretty well out of this.

Hogan is a cleanskin to my knowledge however.

Beware worshipping false idols.

it is a difficult watch, but he seems happy. would love to see a romantic story of him coming back to the dees, but don't think it is likely; he looks like he is already enjoying family, friends and the beach... and so he should.

Love and miss him, but am very excited at the prospect of having May in our backline and most likely KK dashing in the middle. I think we have improved our list despite the loss of Hogan. I also didn't realise how young Preuss was, he is a great get too.

Looking forward to 2019.

thanks mate , I can tell you that Miss 11 and 13 was more upset , than my 7 year old , I guess as we also sponsored Jesse we had met with him many times personally and so on, It was hard for the kids to take. I had explained to them some of the reasons and the cancer side of it too , they completely understood that , as we are sadly very familiar with cancer in our family.

I must say though the club did ring me within minutes of the trade being done and tell me, which was a nice touch.

I can sympathise with you and your kids there. If Maxy ever left (which he obviously never would) I and my kids would be devastated.

Just wait until that post is screenshotted and placed on Facebook which someone then shares via email which is then printed out and taped to a telephone pole and then some millennial takes a selfie in front of and posts it to Snapchat.

Gold.

If the pole was in fitzroy a hipster would videotape himself reading it aloud on beta tape and release an audio version on cassette tape.

He's moved on to the next chapter.

I'm sure he'd always be welcome as a friend of Melbourne, if nothing else.

We have our lives to live as he has his.

May seems hungry for footy. wants to play in his first Friday night game, play finals.

Hogan seems hungry to get home to his mates.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.
