But, the fact Jesse has said he wants to go to Freo, I don't want him next year now, before that I wasn't phased either way, so long as we get what we ask, which is 2 first rounders or similar.

Has Hogan said he wants to be traded? I didn't hear that yet...

*Edit* didn't see replies on prev page... apologies.

This has “go home factor”, Freo, Mitch Clark and 11 th hour surprise destination all over it

Next he’ll be unboxing new Nikon

Is the career ending foot injury included in the Mitch Clark simile?

Mitch Cleary said he wants to be at Freo next year. Players don't need to come out and say anything, I'm not sure why everyone is thinking that, they can agree behind closed doors, like May would have. As I said, he wouldnt of done a medical if he didn't want to go there. Nor would Freo put in an offer if didn't want to go there. Hope is the first sign of denial around these parts (not directed at you).

Good Lord!  I posted the Hogan to GCS as a joke and some here have run with it!  GCS would jump at the chance as would most clubs.

And sure it would be easy to get a great deal from GCS involving May (and one of their juicy top end picks) but can anyone really see Jessie going up there!!  There is fantasy and then there is beyond fantasy.

But if Jessie stays next year will be a whole different story.  Clubs will be lining up to get him and it will cost Freo a lot more to nab him.  They will regret if they don't do a fair deal now!!

Some gent keeps pestering SEN asking Gary to read out his sms. He is adamant the other club is Sydney. Is this some who reads or contributes to Demonland? C'mon fess up if you are bombarding SEN

If there is a genuine 2nd club in this then I'm guessing its Sydney as they have some history of coming in from no where ... an alternative is it is a rumour designed to invigorate the market place and / or sell papers / listeners

The fact mfc and freo are in heavy negotiations more than likely indicates that Jessie has told MFC he wants to go. It also suggests he and Freo have also agreed to contract terms. But don't expect Jessie to come out and say that publicly as he doesn't want egg on this face if it falls through

I understand it was tongue in cheek however if another club is showing interest, it makes sense it would be GC. I’m not saying in anyway Jesse would go there, he’s Fremantle bound or staying put for next season.

I’d love for Sydney to swoop in and stuff Freo. The lulz would be epic. Couldn’t get Clark done and now they stuff Hogan deal.

If Swans did get Hogan it would trash all this need to go home talk and declare Hogan as nothing more than a mercenary.

Sydney have nothing to offer MFC as compensation even if it was remotely true.

... actually it doesn't show Hogan as a mercenary. It shows that the MFC want to move Hogan out of the club and value what May could bring. Hogan is in the middle of all of this, I don't think he's instigating anything, although the rumours of him leaving don't ever seem to have died down!

If no deal is done it may be that Hogan in fed up with the seasonal speculation about his return to Perth and the distraction it provides. it might just push him into making a longer term commitment.

He has done everything possible to extend his 'value' mythology in cruise control about his commitment to the MFC. In some ways, it appears that Hogan is the greatest obstacle to team cohesion and its ultimate success for which we are striving in the upcoming pre-season preparation and - if he stays - 2019. It appears that if we make the deepest end of the finals or greater he then reluctantly would have stayed - earning hundreds of thousands of dollars for the sacrifice - but is under no illusion indicating that he'd prefer to be elsewhere in the mean time. A fair day's pay for a fair day's work is not in his mantra.

A few thoughts, I think Mahoney coming out and saying we can't land May without moving on Jesse could be a driving factor in Freo's offer also, I reckon Josh would like to take those words back however Freo are just about proving themselves as not worth dealing with by any club, their negotiation process and hard stance from the outside looks like total disorganisation. They could have sent Neale on his way and landed both Hogan and Lobb by now and focused on bringing in more trades, this from a club that nobody has wanted to go for years and they have 2 who do want to now (yes Jesse has told them he wants to play for them).

Seems like West Coast may still be interested and I hope Gold Coast come knocking with their picks also, Jesse could be a marquee player for them for 10 years and the AFL will pay his salary or help out at least. Work out a deal with May, KK maybe Jack Martin or some decent player (KPF depth)and get it done.

I do think Jesse will end up at Freo at this stage, but they'd want to get cracking. What a basketcase of a club, basically holding up many other clubs doing deals while they're at it too. The way they've conducted themselves this trade period is an embarrassment and I would be [censored] off if I was a member.

Anyway, I think it was a pretty slimy move from Freo trading their pick 6, trying to make us fold, but buckle up, the more clubs come knocking the better now and it'll all come back to bite them. What a beautiful article/clip from 9 Perth last night haha.

But, the fact Jesse has said he wants to go to Freo, I don't want him next year now, before that I wasn't phased either way, so long as we get what we ask, which is 2 first rounders or similar.

Where has Jesse stated he wants to go to Freo. This is not fact, it is speculation. We have no idea what is driving this, whether it is Jesse wanting to go back to Perth or the club wanting him to declare where his future is this trade period.

I think the club want to move Hogan on because he won’t sign an extension. If he said he wants to commit for 5 years they would be rapt.

OK, I'm not answering this question again, it's getting tiresome. As I said, Mitch Cleary said it and common bloody sense would say Freo wouldn't have put him through a medical, wouldn't have put in an offer for Jesse if he didn't want to go there or hadn't agreed. And for the process to get that far all parties would have agreed to salary and terms, this is common sense, if you can't work that out then I can't help you.

I nearly posted a hypothetical May trade (getting pick 2 or 3 back) with the tongue in cheek comment but figured you would all think I was insane to even suggest it.

... if Jessie does go to CGS can I claim bragging rights on DL for putting it out there first ?

What would Mitch Cleary know? The media are all over the place with this one and suggests that aside from Hogan, his Manager, Melbourne and Freo the rest of us are in the dark.

I'd also suggest that Freo's 'official' offer is noise that means very little.

One of four things will happen:

1. Jesse stays at Melbourne

2. Jesse is traded to Freo or another team, most likely in Perth

3. Jesse signs an extension to remain at Melbourne beyond next year.

4. Jesse retires

  • NON-MFC: Round 07

Round 7 gets underway in iconic fashion with the traditional ANZAC Day blockbuster. The high-flying Magpies will be looking to solidify their spot atop the ladder, while the Bombers are desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top eight. Later that evening, Fremantle will be out to redeem themselves after a disappointing loss to the Demons, facing a hungry Adelaide side with eyes firmly set on breaking into the top four. Saturday serves up a triple-header of footy action. The Lions will be looking to consolidate their Top 2 spot as they head to Marvel Stadium to clash with the Saints. Over in Adelaide, Port Adelaide will be strong favourites at home against a struggling North Melbourne. The day wraps up with a fiery encounter in Canberra, where the Giants and Bulldogs renew their bitter rivalry. Sunday’s schedule kicks off with the Suns aiming to bounce back from their shock defeat to Richmond, taking on the out of form Swans. Then the Blues will be out to claim a major scalp when they battle the Cats at the MCG. The round finishes with a less-than-thrilling affair between Hawthorn and West Coast at Marvel. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
