They deliberately offer 11 & a future 2nd round pick knowing that we'll reject it. Once the receive Brisbane's pick 5 the final offer will be 5 & a future 2nd round pick. That's just my opinion.

In terms of getting May, it would be better for us if they kept open the 11 offer, and upped the other part (future 1st round?).

Ive clearly missed something, why did Freo trade out pick 6?

Well they only had 6 and 81 and want Lobb and Hogan so that's a problem. So they did a deal for a bunch of picks including 11 and 23 with Port who want an early pick to get access to the highly rated SA players in the draft.

After 273 pages, the only conclusion that I have drawn is that Fremantle is an absolute joke of a club at the moment.

Thanks for completely wasting our time (to date) Peter Bell.

Ross Lyon also left the Saints in shambles.  Wonder if he took any of the Saints staff with him to Freo when he went there?

A great tactical coach on gameday, but he cant rebuild a list at all.

Was a time you had to take a bite out of a Wagon Wheel. Now can cram the tiny bugger in ya gob in one go !!

And let's not forget: A pack of Marlboros cost us 39 cents! Now, $28.95, if you're lucky.

Had a similar thought.

Whilst none of us appreciate their shenanigans Freo, in their own fashion are just shopping with what they have( and will have ) . From their standpoint they're trying to maximize their bang for buck. Good for them. That's beholden upon them to do so for that club.

It's actually up to us and others to negotiate better deals. No one gets a free ride. This is pure market forces at work.

Trading ain't finished yet.

Have some faith people.

I hear GCS need a replacement forward...?

So to be clear you think there is a risk jessie will get to freo via next year's draft? And we get nothing.

Yes, that is what I am saying.

Very far fetched, I know...but,

Let's just say his contract ran out this year and Freo have pick 11. Melb and Freo play hard ball and can't agree on a deal. Hogan becomes disgruntled, puts a massive price on his head and threatened to walk into the draft. His manager warns other clubs off him and hes gone.

We all know that won't happen, but it could force Melb to take unders for Hogan. History will tell you it's happened in the past and is something we need to be wary of come 2019

I wouldn't put it past Freo to at least consider this as an option.

So they could low ball the Hogan trade with '...sorry, we don't have a top 10 pick...' and if we agree to their low ball trade or variation thereof, 5 minutes later turn around and accept pick 5 for Neale and keep it for themselves.

...and they traded out next year's 3rd round pick so they can say '...sorry, the rules forbid trading out a future 1st round pick and a later future pick...' and be unwilling to use the tools available that might get the future 1st round pick back into play.

They are playing dirty pool!

No deal after that insulting offer . Straight back at ya .

In this current circumstances would you do a straight swap with WC's Tom Barrass plus maybe extra picks. We move on and this solves our backline problems.

Gaff for Hogan?

Darling for Hogan.

Tom McDonald back to CHB.

Now where should I get my 2019 premiership tattoo?!?!

My comment was very tongue in cheek!!

I think there are lots of permutations.  Going right into fantasy land - various clubs need an ageing key forward:  WCE, Geelong, Hawks, Sydney etc. Just about every club in the league would want Jessie.  They must all be laughing their heads off at what Freo are doing!  So, if Jessie was happy to live in Melbourne I'm sure deals could be done.  But this is all fantasy, for this year at least.  Next year, who knows!

Our leading goal kicker? No thanks I'm happy to keep him forward.

Hey Australia hung on for a draw in the First Test v Pakistan. Great effort by Khawaja - 141. Also Tim Paine - 61 n.o. And of course Shaun Marsh - 0 ..... Not to be outdone by his brother, Mitchell Marsh - 0.

And the connection with Jesse is the fact that the Marsh brothers come from WA and their collective scores match the chances there were that Melbourne would accept the Fremantle offer.

My bet is it’s all noise and the deal with get done along with many others including May ,once the Neale trade is completed.

Jesse definitely wants to go home either this year or next.

Yeah perhaps, but at it’s very highest, it’s dumb noise.

It’s the way I’d expect some idiot redneck in a pub at Kargoorlie to negotiate the deal. It’s basic and lacks class.

Pick 11 and next year’s second rounder for Hogan. I mean, fair dinkum. Even my 5 year old would laugh at that.

I heard the Saints but not convinced it was Hogan related.

Surely he is not going to that rabble

Lloyd on Fremantle's reported offer of a 1st and 2nd round pick for Hogan: That's just not good enough from Fremantle

This is why I say Lloyd is one of the only decent people in the footy media.

Well if Jessie doesn’t get an offer from North Melbourne then he has every right to feel insulted.

Any of us could have said that. The man's no Einstein....just reading the public vibe surely. That's his job.

I must admit, i havent really liked him in the past, but this year hes changed my tune on me this year.

A few thoughts, I think Mahoney coming out and saying we can't land May without moving on Jesse could be a driving factor in Freo's offer also, I reckon Josh would like to take those words back however Freo are just about proving themselves as not worth dealing with by any club, their negotiation process and hard stance from the outside looks like total disorganisation. They could have sent Neale on his way and landed both Hogan and Lobb by now and focused on bringing in more trades, this from a club that nobody has wanted to go for years and they have 2 who do want to now (yes Jesse has told them he wants to play for them).

Seems like West Coast may still be interested and I hope Gold Coast come knocking with their picks also, Jesse could be a marquee player for them for 10 years and the AFL will pay his salary or help out at least. Work out a deal with May, KK maybe Jack Martin or some decent player (KPF depth)and get it done.

I do think Jesse will end up at Freo at this stage, but they'd want to get cracking. What a basketcase of a club, basically holding up many other clubs doing deals while they're at it too. The way they've conducted themselves this trade period is an embarrassment and I would be [censored] off if I was a member.

Anyway, I think it was a pretty slimy move from Freo trading their pick 6, trying to make us fold, but buckle up, the more clubs come knocking the better now and it'll all come back to bite them. What a beautiful article/clip from 9 Perth last night haha.

But, the fact Jesse has said he wants to go to Freo, I don't want him next year now, before that I wasn't phased either way, so long as we get what we ask, which is 2 first rounders or similar.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
