From what you've heard?

What, reading the countless pages of nonsense on this thread?

The way some posters talk about this fiasco acting like they 'know' something is brilliant.

Steve...some people DO know something. Dare I say some know more than they dare comment !!

Is there a lot of BS...for sure

Pick 2 in a reasonable draft and had equal numbers with Cerra. What's not to like

just as i suspected. looking at his draft number and stats only. maybe watch some games. brayshaw didnt have a great debut season, especially compared with cerra.

How about:

Freo: Pick 5 & 6, 2019 2nd rounder

For

Dees: Hogan, 2019 1st rounder

I like the basics but it Needs more complications:

Melb F1st -> GWS

Freo F1st -> GWS

GWS Lobb 14 & 25 -> Freo

Melb Hogan -> Freo

Freo 5&6 -> Melb

GWS in: 2 F1st

GWS out: 14, 25, Lobb

Why? They know deals for Sheil and Setterfield will net 1st and 2nd round picks helping them stay in this years draft and gives them a super strong 3 1st round picks to use/deal in 2019 (possibly 4 F1st if bombers offer that much)

Freo in: Hogan, Lobb, 14, 25

Freo out: 5, 6, F1st

Why? get their 2 star Keys while staying in this year's first round. Keeping in mind with these inclusions they will be expecting to improve making that future pick likely in the 6-10 range (before any FA comp picks). Having their second pick in the 70s it's also weak position so pick 25 has higher than face value for freo.

Melb in: 5,6

Melb Out: Hogan, F1st

Why? Lose a star and exit the 1st round for 2019 but they gain the 2 picks they are after and allows them to deal for May and bring in another young talent a year earlier.

Demanding sources is a great way to get them shut down (at minimum.)

You don't have to name names.  You can at least state something like "from someone my mate's girlfriend knows at the club" and we can give it the weight we think it deserves.  But if you just state "Hogan is now talking to WCE"  we have no way of knowing if it is just an idle thought, a troll or based on fact. So it's just a waste of space and 300 fodder.

Of course if a poster has a good reputation for getting it right in the past, then bald statements are more acceptable.  But that is rare and most of us don't keep a league table of who got it right in the past.

Wouldn't you think Jesse failing a medical would be a top news story this morning? Pretty big news I would have thought.....not even getting a mention and Mitch Cleary has said this morning that it was a mistake and 7Perth have admitted that it shouldn't have run the story apparently.....

I believe the failed medical/mental issues were a result of this Facebook page reporting it last night as fact. They have since deleted the original post and posted this explanation.

Let's be clear. It is certainly possible for the Dockers to give Hogan a medical examination without him running.

Nope can't see a doctor if you can't run.  Medicare rules.

Surely in this instance a medical would have to come from an independent 3rd party and not from the buyers doctor.

I couldn’t see any reason why the Fremantle doctor would cast doubt on Jesse’s injury that would tip the balance of the trade in Fremantle’s favour. ???

Begging for "Fremantle doctor" dad joke.

Whatchootalkinabout - of course Fremantle would do a medical on him using their own trusted resources.

It's draftees that can't have club medicals.

Last nights report from 7Perth was a complete balls up. Somebody read something on the net, and believed it. How it got through to Basil during a News Bulletin is incredible.

People got the sack for situations like that, when i was in a Newsroom fulltime...

Sadly it's par for the course these days with the 24 hour media cycle and everyone wanting to be the first to report it. There is no such thing as verification anymore.

This is actually a [censored] circus. This needs to end one way or another soon, imagine 7 more days of this ?

I wonder if Eagles will pounce and tell Jesse to stay one more year and then they will have room and picks to get him and Kennedy will be nearly 34.

That would be a real distraction to our year.

Yes the job of the sub editor seems to have almost vanished. It is a big worry, that we just accept. The “Subby” had the final say as to if my story went on TV ? or not, it was a Yes or No, if no then it was a blisteringly quick re edit to make changes

This is just becoming a bit of a joke now. I might sound melodramatic, but the toing and froing, the he’s staying and he’s leaving, is truly exhausting.

I will be over the moon if he stays, but if he does, he needs to sign a long-term contract and put this to bed. It is frustrating for supporters, it is destabilising for the MFC, and most of all, it is a distraction for Jesse. If don’t think I can bear starting another Jesse Hogan Panic Room or Trade to Freo thread this time next year.

This whole ordeal is just so peculiar and there just seems to be something off about it. There has never been real clarity provided to the supporters by any of the parties involved regarding the nature and reasoning behind the trade.

I just want to know what is happening because it is exhausting – one minute I am prepared for him to leave, the next I am excited that he will stay only to find out he is leaving again. It is farcical.

Two things, firstly would Hogan be heading off to Bali on a surfing trip if there is any doubt with his 'Medical' with Freo?

Secondly I can't see Josh Mahoney GOING to the media saying that he expects it will be one of the more expensive trades ever were to move to Freo.

Sounds to me that Peter Bell is trying to get across the state of their list ASAP, and whether there are other issues that he has to tick off before they can process Hogan, Lobb and Neale in and out of the club. Looks like a power play going on behind the scenes at Freo! (Not sure if Bell v Lyon v Rosich, or Bell v Lyon/Rosich) Feels like the latter, and that Bell might have been put in there by the board.

With all that said it's a horrible look that the CEO is looking after list management .... Bell is their footy manager, they don't have a list manager currently. Club is looking very reactive atm!

If we pull off a trade with Freo for Hogan, I'd almost be tempted to request 5 and next years first round pick, cos there is a chance you could land the 2019 number 1 pick out of the trade..

EDIT: This is purely speculation on my point.... so it's possibly as accurate as what a lot of the journo's are putting out there!

    Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
