cannot say for certain with MFC but I am reasonably sure that as a Richmond or Collingwood supporter the likelihood of being P3 and getting  a ticket would be absolutely zero.

Lotteries for non existent prizes were outlawed years ago.

PS: Around $10 per member and we wouldn't need to play in Darwin .. ah it's just a few cups of coffee

I'm with you on this DJ. There should be more transparency around the number of priority 2/3 tickets so priority three ticketholders can make an informed judgement on whether to invest $10 on the possibility of getting tickets. If I was a priority 3 Richmond supporter I don't think I'd even bother (if that priority category even existed, which I think it should not for a club with that many members).

I understand that the corporates put a lot of dough into the AFL, but a maximum of 40,000 tickets (40% of total) to paid up members of both clubs is laughable, especially at the inflated prices.

Also, with the entry fee to the ballot, I reckon Ticketek will make around $3/4 million - $1 million just from supporters of the two clubs that didn’t make it!

FWIW I think the 40,000 figure is pretty fanciful. The only way I can see a club getting even 35,000 tickets is if the other club is GWS or Gold Coast. For us, who would be playing Richmond or Collingwood,  20,000 seems far more likely.

is an elder statesman with a Seniors card able to use this ticket

probably not. Is the elder statesman's membership a concession? Does he receive any welfare?

It's been publicised elsewhere on Demonland that we have approx 10,000 Priority 1 Members. This leaves anywhere from 0 - 10,000 P2 and P3 tickets available.

45,000 members approx total - 10,000 P1 ticket holders  = up to a 28% chance

I understand you can enter P3, but only as a P3 with everyone else of that level.

I am.p2 and also forgot to make it worse I remembered at like 5:15pm:( too I don't see red and blue home and away members In priority 3 so yeh think we are screwed, I don't think all p2 will even get tickets given we are only given 20,000 max and 10,000 go to p1... P3 basically no chance

I guess there's always the chance not everyone will take up their tickets in the higher category for whatever reason. MCC / MFC dual members may already have been successful in the MCC ballot for instance.

I fixed this issue by deleting the '0' at the start of my phone number on that same page but under contact details. I read about it a few weeks ago and it worked for me after I had that problem tonight!

30 minutes on hold with Ticketec now... I know my chances are slim, but they're 0% at this rate...

Yeah I just went on and got through immediately. You might need to try a different device

40 minute international call later... and I'm in!

That’s what I mean R & BB - 40,000 tix between the 2 clubs!

happened to me exactly the same for the semis and repeatedly, ended up going direct to agency

i still have an ongoing dialog with ticketek who tried to fob it off onto some third party security service (unnamed). all i wanted was an assurance it was fixed which they couldn't give me. fortunately was ok for the ballot.

All very painless really. Being Priority 3 it is no doubt a donation to Ticketek but exciting to be in the ballot nonetheless.

I managed to get into the ballot at Cat 3

Our children were Cat 2 im thinking because they had home and away memberships as part of our country member 5 game package.

This meant that they could enter as children but would have no adults with them! So we all drop to cat 3.

Im thinking if others have the same as me the guys without kids who are cat 2 will have a better chance!

Do we seriously need to have 400×8 in our bank account if we win?

Only if you want to go to the GF!  I don't know when they do the ballot or take the cash, so I don't know how soon after you will need to sell the kids and the missus to have the cash in your account at the pleasure of Ticketek.  Anyone know how soon after our game this is all done??

Members who were successful in the ballot will have their credit card charged on either September 22 or September 23 (after winning the Preliminary Final). Please ensure that you have enough funds for all tickets on your nominated card. There will be no follow up on any rejected credit cards once the ballot has been run. If your credit card fails to process, your tickets will be reallocated to eligible member/s. If you need to change your credit card details prior to the ballot, you can do so up until 11am, Friday September 21 by contacting Ticketek on 132 849.

Discussed last night. If 45000 public seats available, then for example Tigers get 30000 and Demons get 15000. That’s only 1/3rd of our members.

GF seats for the heart and soul supporter is really difficult unless you look to spend $1000+  on a membership.

I might do that next year so I can see us go back to back !!!!!

Its an even split if the club has enough for their half

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.
