The biggest game of the last dozen years, calls for an early thread...

I see us winning and comfortably, but can’t help but feel that accuracy will be the difference between setting up a meeting with Hawthorn or ending our season early.

God I hope you're right.     We have a massive advantage the second the ball is bounced, and he wears number 11.

Pumped yet?

The Revolution is nigh the crowd is yelling for more...

The ancien regime off with their heads!

All the way with the red and the blue!!!

I am so nervous, I'm not going to be able to sleep (in London).

Win or lose, this will be a great taste of the big time for our young team.

I'm tipping a Cats win, but the experience of finals pressure will be invaluable for the teams development.

Go Dees, give it everything you have.

So,after,12years we get to play another final. I had forgotten that feeling of win you play next week.....lose and you are done for the season. Interesting to get the head around.

Off to bed soon a bit of a,sleep.... breakfast.  A bit of work and watch live over lunch.

looking, forward to this with a clear mind that we will win and win well.

go Dees

Irregardless of the nail-biting finishes, and the timing of the fixtures, the two matches against the Cats this season are the two I've been most tense during from cover to cover. I think I usually get a fairly good read on how things will pan out early on - not necessarily the result but if it'll be close one or not and the potential for either team to make a comeback. The Geelong games not so.

Both teams in both matches were close at times to breaking it wide open, but couldn't quite take that last step; a teetering balance throughout. We may have dominated larger swathes against them over the past two years, but we match up well, and have played well, and Geelong aren't as weak across the lines as many of us would like to hope. I expect this will be another nervous one.

Whatever happens, I'm sure every Melbourne player will put in and make us proud. Go Deees!

I feel this is the beginning of a long journey. We have all been there through false hope, rebuild after rebuild, coaches who would lead us to the promised land, future Brownlow winners, drafting gems, trade bargins, the works.

We have looked for line in the sand games, turning points, coming of age and realisations.

This is the true beginning, at the bounce this evening is where it all starts. For all of us. Players, coaches, officials, fans, this is where we get a taste, this is where they finally get a taste. And I'll bet it taste [censored] good.

There will be more heartache for sure, but it will only make us want it more.

Win lose or draw it begins tonight, we are back for what is ours and once these kids get a taste, nothing else will satisfy.

If the competition hasn't realised it yet they will tonight, we are coming for what is ours, and we are coming hard.

Starts at 2.50am here (Los Angeles).

Just replayed our last two games.

Max and our midfield are FLYING now like never before!!

If this balance continues we should win. But oh no, I have a fear:

If instead of hitting out to Clarrie, Harmes, Gus etc., if instead of that Max starts hitting out to a young man who hasn’t played for ages, who we love for his spirit, energy, effort, aggression, but he must be rusty, if our midfield setups start revolving more around JV today than Clarrie etc., then unfortunately I predict we’ll lose.

If Jack V and everyone respect and maintain the great midfield thats developed since his injury, then IMHO we might win some more games!

Done. And to think my current job title is Chief Editor. I've gone the early Hutchy on the nerves.

Regardless what happens today, win or lose, I’m proud of what we did this year. 8m just about to go for my morning swim and I’m totally pumped. I feel as if I could break a record

Just a reminder that JACK VINEY IS BACK TONIGHT AND WILL HAVE NO HESITATION IN DESTROYING ANY GEELONG PLAYER IN HIS PATH.

I hear you.

Although, for me, that first bounce tonight will be like the last frame of a mostly harrowing movie.

I really believe we could beat the cats by 10 goals if we get on top early. Having said that and looking at the last couple of results playing them I say we win by 2pts. Go demons.

?

Game day wooo!!!

win or lose, enjoy the ride tonight! We’ve all been through a lot with this club over the years. Enjoy it.

GO DEES!

Feeling all the emotions, been staying off all social media, all that matters is winning, as Goody says, the rest is fugazi. I would be very disappointed to bow out in the first final that's for sure. If we win and Pies beat WCE, we will make the GF I think. We won't get a better shot at it for ease than this year. Go Dees

Started work 90 mins early so I can be out the door with time to get to the G.

Nervous, but can't wait!

So pumped, made it to Melbourne last night be it [censored] freezing here...

Saw about 6 or 7 groups of dees supporters coming down on my flight.

Flying down from Sydney for the big game.

Cant wait!

The Dogs reigned supreme in 2018 with an inaugural AFLW premiership cup and the Demons matched this feat by winning the cup as the Season 7 2022 champions.Meggs wasn’t born when the Doggies won their first VFL premiership cup against the Demons in 1954. Covid prevented many Demons fans from legally witnessing the victorious 2021 AFL Grand Final cup performance between the Demons and the Bulldogs, but we all grin when remembering those magnificent seven third quarter goals.
