A guy on bigfooty who work at Casey demons mentioned that hes heard Dec Keilty will be promoted to the senior list, Tim Smith another year on the rookie and Fillapovic given the chop. Has very good track record and i remember him getting the delistings right last year also.

Guys like Bugg, JKH, Pedo, Kent, King, Mckenna, Vandenberg and Oscar are out of contract..

I expect Vanders and Oscar to sign new deals with JKH a potential 1 year deal or trade..

Keilty to the senior list is a no brainer I reckon.  I would move Tim Smith there too, but I guess we will need to keep senior spots open for the draft and possible free agents, so another year for Bull on the rookie list is all good.

I have a sneaking suspicion if Bugg is delisted, Carlton may swoop. What has the trade whisperer heard? #Eartotheground.

With a finals series to be played out at both AFL & VFL level, it’s a bit early to start speculating but Declan Keilty must be a good chance to be upgraded if he continues to perform well with Casey.

Keilty 0 games, Petty 1 game?

It would mean the end of the road for Pedersen, as promoting Keilty would mean we are pretty top heavy, especially with Oscar, Frost and Lever down back with Petty waiting in the wings.  I'd give him another year on the rookie list and see what happens.

As others have said, Bugg, McKenna and King would be the ones up for the chop.  I think they've come to the end of the road with the club.

Given we have 2 list vacancies already, I expect only a few more changes on the senior list. Promoting from rookie list makes sense given our first pick won't be deep until the second round once comp and priority picks get handed out.

Would rather run with a Keilty or McKenna type on the senior list for a year than go fishing for raw prospects outside the top 60 picks.

Raw prospects are better suited to the rookie list.

Mckenna doesnt cut it for me.. even pre injury i didnt rate him highly at all. Great bush footy league player but the step up is too much of a gan for him to be honest.

Lockhart would probably get pick up on the senior list. C.Wagner probably end up on the rookie list. White, though a slim chance could get rookied again. All three players are better than Maynard (unlucky to be mentioned due to injury),Keilty and T.Smith. McKenna and/or J.Wagner may also end up rookies. Having said that,Keilty could be placed on the senoir list but not T.Smith who I believe has not done enough. Kent may be traded to Freo for currency. Bugg possibly keep, may surprise next year.King ,Flip,Dion and possibly JKH (trade) will be gone.Vince and Balic(a minchie type pickup) retires. Lewis could retire and may end up with coaching role. As a far fetched idea G.Lok (casey) may end up on the rookie list.Pedo will be delisted.

McKenna has this final series to prove himself. By all accounts he played his best game to date last week, so might be coming good at the right time. Good players usually play well in finals, so we shall see. Its up to him.

I did hear that he’s been in discussions with Carlton. That was last weekend.

Makes sense if he wants to get games.

I understand the idea of "development" and "potential", even for a KPB.

Wait and see. He was only drafted in last year's rookie draft, and could easily have another 12 months before being upgraded.

"Some guy on BigFooty" is hardly a reliable source.

I'd love to see McCartney spend the summer taking a special focus on Petracca, as I think he can move into a A grade midfielder.

I also believe Melbourne will be far better off without Hogan (for what we can receive for him as a pick). If we could trade Hogan + Kent to Fremantle, we would be asking for 2x first round (or a Bradley Hill / Andrew Brayshaw / Lachie Neale + 1x first round) + 2nd rounder for Kent - hate to see him leave but this is a good outcome as we have so many forwards).

And someone asked me whether I would trade Hunt (he's my favourite player) however how does he break the side (possibly when Lewis retires - you would assume end of 2019).

If we could draft Gaff, that would be ideal. Whats the story with Tom Liberatore? I know there are rumours hes not too professional but he has very high potential. A big risk but the reward could be worth it (if we cant get Gaff or some high profile players)...

And could we land May from GC for a high end draft pick, swapped for Hogan. And land Preuss for a 2nd rounder?

We currently have: 29, 31, 36, 57 (I assume this is about right) aprox picks

Get: Gaff, pick 29, p 36, p 57, 1x first rounder, 1x 2nd rounder (Kent) so taking 1-18 pick + p,29 + p.36 to get 3 quality midfielders (say 2x inside and 1x outside)

Lose: 1st rounder (May), p. 31 (Preuss), Hogan (receive 2x first rounder) , Kent (receive 2nd rounder)

With a 6-6-6 format, I'd like to see:
Jetta          O. McDonald      Lever

Lewis            Frost                    Hibberd

Petracca      Viney                 Harmes

Hannan         T.Mdonald       Melcham

Weideman        Preuss        Fritsch

Gawn            Oliver              Brayshaw

Neil Bullen, Salam, Jones, vandenBerg

Spargo, Stretch, Hunt

The issue for Kielty has been consistency through a game and I believe he is starting to produce this.

He is 23, 194cm and around 98kg, he can play forward, back and pinch hit in the ruck, sounds like a Pederson replacement to me. A lot of potential upside.

But no, we should delist him and bring in some other rookie and start developing them. He will be kept as long as he keeps showing improvement and Jade Rawlings sang his praises this week after the Geelong win.

He will be kept and your opinion may need some modifying.
