Happy for us to keep this in the phone box. Stoppage after stoppage.

Hope Milkshakes is ok

JKH isn't shining today like I think a fit Hannan would, but he definitely looks like he has picked up the pace of AFL now. No longer a liability, so…faint praise I know but it's better than nothing.

We must have been sprayed with Mortein.

I thought they were already...

You can't expect a team to hit every one! In saying that, I think we are also playing pretty well. Just a little loose defensively but we'll see how it plays out. Trac needs to hit the sticks when he has the chance rather than trying to lay it off so much

They were but there was just the odd one that would bounce near the boundary when they could have been off.

Spargo not going to be out of the team anytime soon.

Umps gave them a couple of free shots to end the half. Fortunately justice prevailed and they missed. A little worried we'll have a one man bench in the second half.

The AFL have given the umpires the green light to do everything in there power to award BWS free kicks at any opportunity.

Just flicked on for the last 5-7min, very impressed with the commitment from all the players as well as the urgency. They know the temperature has already risen.

Umpiring has been absolutely fine. Open the other eye, people.

Amazing that when we win no one complains but as soon as we lose it’s on the umps. I agree umpires not too bad.

Incidentally, there are maybe 50 GWS supporters behind their goal. Virtually nonexistent cheer squad over there. If supporters count for anything we should get over the line.

It's been fine except for the Jetta HTB. That should have been called high if the one 30 seconds earlier was.

Radio said "hyper extended" wrist for Tyson

Melksham bleeding from nose and mouth. Was down a while so having concussion test

Well, as fine as umpiring can ever be.

Mostly ok, but those two free goals they tried to give away are a big problem.

Vandenberg 50, nev at the end of qtr, no way is that holding the ball. A couple others for good measure too.

We’ve been given some charity ones too so think we’re doing just fine at the moment

The Demons return to town fresh off a thumping win over the back-to-back wooden spooners, the West Coast Eagles, played in front of a sparse crowd at Marvel Stadium, the same venue that hosted last week's heartbreaking loss.

  • PREVIEW: West Coast

It was bad enough that the Melbourne Football Club created yet another humiliating scenario inside its wretched season at Marvel Stadium last Sunday, but the final insult is that it has been commanded to return to the scene of the crime to inflict further punishment on its fans this week. Incidentally, if this match preview, of a game that promises to be one of the most unattractive fixtures in the history of the game, happens to cut out of your computer screen three quarters of the way through, it’s no coincidence. I’ll be mirroring the Demons’ lacklustre effort against St Kilda from last Sunday when they conceded the largest last quarter turnaround for victory in the history of the game.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.
