360 had a little graphic saying (only) “40k seats sold”.

Hoping as many Dees fans get back to the G on Friday, last week was amazing.

How many sold for pies/GWS?

Considering AFL members haven't gone on sale yet (around 23k) and MCC only sell about a third(?) of their seats pre sale that means it's probably about the same as last week.

I have been reading Demonland for years without ever contributing.  Didn't think it would be this way when I finally did take the plunge but I have three tickets for Friday's match for sale at face value (I won't charge for the Ticketek booking fee).  Seats are in the Olympic Stand Level 4, Bay Q50 Row AA. $204 for the three tickets (face value is $68 each).

Let me know if you want them.

Would they post lies like that? Seems a little far fetched to me.. Maybe try next level up.

They're expecting 90,000 again.

We got reserved seats in the MCC on Level 4. But I reckon I'll go early to get a Level 1 seat.

I still think regular H&A attendees should get preference to finals seating, instead of all the bandwagoners...

Thanks Dee Gee,

So how far back were you in the line up when you rolled up at 4.30?

I’m coming to this late L36 but I queued up at 3.45 last week and was seated by about 5.05 undercover in M45 - ripping spot. If you head off at 2.30 you should be fine.

Not everyone who can’t make it along most weeks is a bandwagoner Adam.

Understand that mate and I'm sorry if you're in that category (this is directed at bandwagoners of which there are clearly plenty), but as someone who gives up 4 hours of his weekend every weekend and have done through some very dark times, it pisses me off to think I could miss out on a grand final ticket one day, because some muppet bandwagoner comes along for his or her first footy match for the year.

might do that. when i go to away games at the g i always go to standing room just beside where the afl members start. i'm guessing that would be about m14 or thereabouts. gets me closest to true wing position

disaster

got on multiple times, got tick i wanted. wouldn't accept credit card (one on file)

tried at least 10 times and 3 signons

contacted bank and they said no attempts by ticketek to contact bank

rang ticketek and won't let me talk to anyone

I got this last week with 4 credit cards. Rang the banks no blocks on my cards. Spoke to someone at Ticketek and they now claim my card must be scammed and so they are investigating. What are they investigating? Just own up to it being an almighty ba...s up. MCC have had a number of complaints regarding the same issue.

This week didnt bother. Will line up early like last week.

I got there about 3:15 and after the small shift forward they did at about 3:30 I was on the fence about 20m from the front. Got seats around the same spot as you but it was a bit hectic trying to save a few. Think I'll try to get there earlier this week

I have some family firmly in that bracket currently. Scrambling to get them tickets because they couldn't be bothered getting a membership during the season. Pisses me off.

So with the first week of finals and having to queue with fans of 3 other Melbourne teams, I was in and out in under 3 minutes for AFL Members.

This morning I have three devices going and am still in queue after 5 minutes. I suspect they have limited the number of active transactions, rather than there actually being more people trying to get tickets.

have queued for world cup tickets... leaves this system for dead..

1. You log in and thus one device per person and then it tells you within 5 minutes your waiting time and off you go for a coffee.

Why put both games on sale at once...

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
