Finals Tickets

So we can definitely buy them online yes?

Does anyone know what is the go if you want to buy a ticket for a non member? How can I guarantee they can sit with us members?
I want to drag my better half along, as he has never seen us lose a game. He literally got home and sat down in front of the TV after West Coast got in front in the last... and then we kicked 3 goals and won the game. He is our good luck charm, and I am not messing with that!

Yes, can buy on line.

To get both tickets simultaneously during the member priority purchase period:  1) Use finals ticket details from a member not going.  2) buy him a 3-game (or higher) membership before August 24 (Cost $105+).

Or, buy both when tickets go on sale to the general public ie after member priority period closes.

Members tickets technically are non transferrable, and in the time since we last played, the league and MCG have been pretty aggressive with regards to that. I've seen both someone's MCC membership revoked (2012), and had my dad's AFL Gold membership downgraded to silver for 12 months when I went with a mate to watch a final in 2010 and gave him that membership to use. Now I believe it's a straight up revoke. All types of membership have in the T&Cs that you may be asked for ID.

Here is the info on buying finals tickets.  http://www.afl.com.au/tickets/finals/finals-ticket-on-sale-dates

Week 1 – Elimination and Qualifying Finals (September 7-9)

Competing Club Members
9am - 1pm Tuesday August 28 (venue local time)

General Public
2pm Tuesday August 28 (venue local time)

AFL Members
9am - 1pm Wednesday August 29 (venue local time)

Also worth noting is the ticket outlet depends on which ground the final is held:

Ticketek for MCG, SCG.

Ticketmaster for Optus Stadium, Spotless stadium (if GWS???)

Etihad not metioned.  We will know more on Sunday night.

Not sure if tickets can be purchased in person at nominated retail outlets.  I called a couple in the Bayside area and they didn't know too much about them...

So watch this space on Sunday night..

I can't believe it is happening... too happy for words...

Depending on the expected crowd, usually you can buy multiple tickets per membership. For example my cousin has a Richmond membership and he got me a ticket to the Elimination Final vs Carlton in 2013. $80 a ticket though, not cheap!!

What sort of coin are we looking at for say a level 1 seat?

This will help answer that question.

http://www.afl.com.au/tickets/seat-pricing-guide

On another note - I believe the club will send members an email with ticketing info.  Extract from club correspondence:

We will be sending an email to members with their barcodes and full details about how to purchase finals tickets on Sunday.

The barcode is different to the member number, it is on the back of the card but we will confirm it via email as well.

Hi all, well who’se excited about our first finals game in 12 years!

So I have been a Redleg member for over 10years and wondered do I get to sit in my reserved area?

thanks

Welcome to Demonland. I don't believe you will be sitting in the area you usually sit in but as a reserved seat member you will most likely be sitting in a bay with other Dees fans.

Hi everyone! If anyone is a Member and isn't going to be attending - my younger brother and sister would love to get to the game and it would be greatly appreciated if we could use your membership code to buy tickets as part of the first purchase group. Cheers and Go Dees!

You choose the seat you want when you buy the tickets.  Club will send details on how to get tickets so keep an eye on your email inbox!  See my post #38 just above yours for more info.

Great to have another female posting - there are precious few! ?

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe
