Watching Adelaide V GWS and the crows kicked across the ground which the "nuff nuff's" commentating called the "fat side of the ground". Someone please help me understand this and while your at it, "a goalkeeper" WTF. Brayshaw one of the "nuff nuff's". I'm shaking my head in disbelief.

When one of these idiots, and it's usually Bwoooooooce, says such and such is playing the quarterback role, that takes the biscuit for me. Can't stand hearing that being said. P... off to the USA if you are going to talk like that.

The only fiddling you should be doing right now is with the ladder predictor. If Port had beaten WCE, then a win over SYD & WCE next week would have us 2nd with the win over GWS in r23 . No need for a Brisbane win.

Nice edit, considering your original post completely ignored the Giants.

Once again, you're just assuming we win all 3 final games. I'll be as happy as anyone to see that happen but I'm also a realist. We dropped a game to the Saints barely a month ago. We haven't beaten anyone in the 8 all season. I'm all for being optimistic but the odds of us winning every match from here are unlikely, all things considered.

How many fresh reminders do you need that this club finds seemingly impossible ways to crush their fans every year? My only focus is on finals. If we make the top 4 I'll be elated but I'd rather see results that cement our place in the 8 and finally break our finals drought once and for all.

Whinging about the decreasing odds of making top 2, when our place in the 8 is so precarious, is shortsighted. Melbourne supporters of all people should know better.

Do you believe, playing near our best, we can win the next 3 games?

Of course. I'm also someone who thought we couldn't possibly bugger up a victory against Geelong if in front by 30 points in the final quarter...

Back to tonight's matches, Collingwood now up by over 2 goals. Brisbane sadly falling away. Make that 3 goals, bugger!

Wow...the score review to beat all lol

Then, if Port won tonight, how was the thought of finishing second a wet dream?

I'm of the view that the insurance we get from the Port loss is more valuable than the prospect of finishing 2nd.

I believe we can win all three but I don't think that's likely. So I'm more than happy to have Port lose - as has been said, if we beat Sydney tomorrow and Collingwood beats Port next week, then we should (barring BBP's nightmares coming true) have both Geelong and Port covered with our percentage, and that means we play finals (even if North wins out).

Meanwhile tonight's games were exciting 20 minutes ago when Brisbane and Adelaide were both leading.

Now Adelaide's down by 18 and Brisbane's down by 21.

Can see thats a goal from here.....how could the goal ump not see that...

Both then kick goals. Don't dream it's over

Both matches tonight going against us now. Bugger.

Adelaide were already well out of contention so it would've been nice to see them upset the Giants. Their depth is ridiculous sadly, thanks to the ridiculous draft concessions the AFL handed them on a silver platter.

Excuseable defeat for Brisbane given their youth but they really should've gotten the win last week against North. Heartbreaking final minute that was.

How “good” is the “atmosphere” in Canberra?

It's great. It's breathable and everything. I suspect there'll be a terraforming operation there in no time.

Great sling tackle Tex you Fwit

Josh Kelly doesn't look in a good way. Hope hes alright.

That lady umpire clearly is a Collingwood fan girl

You are a supporter who doesn’t seem to understand that it is a learning game ...we get into situations we haven’t been into before & maybe lose but learn ....the team of a month ago who lost to the saints isn’t the team that will face Sydney...I absolutely believe we are good enough to win the next three games but the teams we play also believe they are good enough to win .... we need to win at least one  & in reality win or come close to winning against the other two...you need to go into finals in winning form or otherwise you are Essendon 2017 & just making up the numbers

Noticed quite a few posts questioning the female umpire. Does she support the Pies? Seems she's giving away quite a few questionable free kicks tonight in their favour.

I bet when Bryce Gibbs left Carlton last year he would have been 100% certain he'd be playing finals. I know he went back home for family but im sure he would have thought the crows would have had a great season and push for another shot at a premiership.

She also didn't allow a clear brisbane advantage where they would have had a certain shot on goal.

She really needs to hide it a bit better

The gws crows game hasn't been that bad. Interesting last quarter. GWS 2 down and only hold an 11 point lead. Come on crows do us a favour and win.

Come on Adelaide you losers. GWS are 2 down. If you can’t win from here, you’re a disgrace for a team that made the GF last year.

Who are the 2? Long term?

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.
