Bromance

Featured Replies

It wasnt that long ago our team would walk off the ground, week after week after week, with a hangdog expression on their faces because they had just copped another flogging. It must have been bloody hard coming to work every week knowing you would feel [censored] at the end of the day.

Now that things are changing for the team (Due to their own hard work, it hasnt been gifted to 'em), i reckon its great to see smiles on their faces after a game. This team is forming some really strong bonds that hopefully will help us get us a cup or 3. If they want to have a bit of an in-joke after smashing the opposition, thats ok by me.

At least they’re enjoying their footy.

As am I and hopefully all who post here.  ??????

At the risk of sounding like the Col Sylvia 'meme', can you imagine how good these two blokes are going to be with another preseason under their belts?

While this is just a snippet, I have never seen the level of camaraderie in the AFL that is currently being displayed by our key young crop. From memory, the Gus/Trac bromance moved onto Clarry after the initial display. Time will tell, but I'm not sure that the importance of this bond can be understated. They've probably played less than 20 games together as a unit. Is Goodwin the right guy thread is where this video belongs.

Such a disgrace. The FD needs to clamp down on this ridiculous behavior. All players should be banned from smiling until we win 3 flags in a row and Simon Goodwin cures cancer.

And reconciles the Israelis and the Palestinians. The dees winning 3 flags ain't too hard for Goodwin, nor curing cancer.

I often say that footy clubs are made of 80+ unique individuals.

Some very unique...

He gives a spark when the group needs one. He’s different. That’s good.

Trac is hilarious. Every player named him the most annoying haha

you can see the love there.

We need this type of bonds to be formed so in finals they will go the extra mile for their mates

Angus's side of the story.

Paraphrasing:  "...Gus's chin was cut open in the 2nd qtr vs GCs and had 5 staples put in and he was in a bit of pain...at the end when Trac tried to hug him he was trying to keep his sore chin away...then this weird 'chin kiss' dance happened..."

From the 33.00 minute mark of podcast  http://www.afl.com.au/news/2018-08-07/podcast-emotional-angus-on-brother-gaff-hit

Great courage from Gus to play on in pain and 5 staples in his chin - who would have known.

As and aside, Gus hasn't told his much suffering mum about the staples.  You have to feel for Mrs Brayshaw:  Eldest son currently serving in Afghanistan, Gus all stapled up, Hamish's teammate Gaff belts youngest son Andrew behind the ball.  As I said in another thread - Courage runs deep in the Brayshaw family.

I was serving in the Persian Gulf, but would come back into camp to find shoes nailed to the floor, sleeping bag full of sand etc etc but we were a committed team, including to each other
