Effort is there.

Just some polish and we can absolutely win this.

Surprised they're not finding a way to pay frees against us.

Unbelievable eh

There's that last-second goal concession that we all knew was coming…

I spoke too soon. He's missed it. He's missed everything. That's very big for our confidence (mine at least) that we go in ahead at the break.

It’s amazing how Dangerfield can scoop / throw out the ball right in front of an umpire and it’s play on.

Think we will loose this unfortuanlty, have all the footy but kicking behinds and kicking it with pinpoint accuracy to their defenders

My gut feel is similar. It has the makings of one of those games. The Port game, The North game last year, hell even the Freo game in 2002 where we led slightly at half time and Farmer daggered us on the siren.

Man I hope I'm wrong

Yet we can handball...and get pinged for throwing !!

It's the Belmont effect !! ?

Or how Tuohy can fend off a tackler, turn 180 degrees, take a step and then get nailed and he's had no prior opportunity.

Considerable difference in interpretation on tackles. Shame the umpires can't mute the crowd sound

Joel Selwood hasn't started ducking yet.

 Harmsie hasnt let him

Keep the effort up and can win.

We are still long bombing into the forward 50. Doesn't work on the narrow Geelong ground. LOWER THE EYES!

Belmont? But I agree interesting what Danger gets away with and the snickey ruck nomination in front of goal was a classic. We just have to be aware that they are sly bastards. Rule needs to be changed.

Being the usual enigma that he is

I feel like I haven’t even seen him at all.. not injured or anything?

We need to keep the effort and we're a chance. Try to go through the middle more and take our chances. Do we move Harmes onto Danger or keep Selwood under control?

Hate mentioning it...does Chunk EVER look where he's kicking ?? Ffs ...kills momentum and effort

That’s our Jeffy! That’s also why he plays a lot of VFL

Loving the effort, loving the pressure and loving the fact that, in hostile territory, we are more than serving it up to the enemy.

We are right in this contest, and if we can keep the scoreboard pressure up then a win is there for the taking!

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

It’s late February. Two teams widely predicted to finish near the foot of the AFL table in 2026 face off against each other in sweltering 30-degree heat deep in outer suburbia in a match simulation with fresh new faces and uneven team numbers. There are no nearby sheep stations on offer; the result promises nothing more than bragging rights for the winner. Nevertheless, the loser appears hopelessly adrift, whereas the other seems to have found its footing after a couple of years of struggle – perhaps a hint at bigger things to come?

  • POSTGAME: North Melbourne

It was only a preseason match but the new look Demons spearheaded by new coach Steven King looked impressive as they put on a clinic against perennial cellar-dwellers North Melbourne as they cruised to an 80 point victory at Casey Fields.
