Anybody know when, who or where some practice matches are taking place?

Good question

If they actually put content that we wanted into the members email, then we would know these things

Totally agree.

The MFC website is just about the worst in the league for important information like intra-club matches. Dogs and Hawthorn have already announced matches on their website.

Cameron Bruce was just on the channel 10 news talking about Neita being captain for 2007, and said it would still be 1-2 weeks before they start playing intra clubs in the lead up to the NAB Cup, and said it was too early to tell if any of the new recruits would be in line for round 1 as he hadn't seen any of them play in a game situation yet.

WJ reported a week ago that he understood there would be an intraclub at Moorabbin and one at TDome. Obviously, not finalised yet.

Personally, I'm not too big a fan of these intraclub practice matches so early in the season. A four game NAB Cup and/or practice match series is enough lead up for a season that's already very long. One or two intraclubs is enough.

No training this morning at Trinity.

Practice match at Moorabbin 2.00 today.

I hope some one can go and make a report.

What a day to plan the match predicted 38C.

Cheers for the update george. That was quick!

And yes, that is Buckley in blue #3 in the first clip. Looks like he is quite good in traffic. I always thought he was a very outside player. Perhaps with the bulk he has added the last few months, he is now becoming more confident and developing an inside game? All I know is he is looking better and better. Will hopefully be a mover this year!

Moloney is also looking fit. Cant wait to see his passion for the jumper out there again :D

If we lose the NAB Cup opener against Hawthorn we'll be playing a practice match against the loser of Adelaide and Port on Sat Mar 3 in Mount Gambier.

Ofcourse if we win, we play the winner of Essendon and Carlton in Launceston the same night.

Launceston? Is that confirmed?

Is that Buckley in Blue #3? He's on fire in that clip!

I'm keeping a very close and keen eye on his development this year. I reckon there's a massive upside to the kid.

I hope he gets a run in the NAB.

Sorry to dissapoint guys but #3 in the first clip is Chris Johnson not Simon Buckley. Although that is good signs for CJ. Buckley is doing the agility runs in the bottom right hand corner in the second clip.

They certainly looked similar to me in that clip. But I think you're right. And that is a good sign.

Correct, it is CJ in that clip. Chris is also featured in a couple of the stills. He has a tape on his knee.

Both Fan and I had problems trying to differentiate between the two all day, although Buckley without his top on is far more muscled.

We were utterly confused by Godfrey who kept changing tops with others.....for a while we thought Heath Neville was an inside ball-magnet.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
