Awesome INs this week.

They all have pace to burn...

I still think there is a spot for Bernie though!

Goodwin must have read demonland and finally came to his senses of playing Garlett and Spargo in the same team with our inside 50s.

Better Ins this week. Let's see how the balance looks with more pace and smalls in the team to provide pressure.

Best selections for a while.   Exactly what we have been calling for on here.

Two small crumbers, some speed, and an outside mid who can spread.

Will be pleasantly surprised if Jeffy gets a run.  So many logical reasons to do this...but they...its footy

Be VERY intrigued if they DO play both Spargo AND Jeffy..have been want ting to see this just about all year..Just have a gut feeling theyd work well of of each other and wouldnt trip over each other either. Frost seems a beyond  "about time"inclusion

I await official team sheet with more interest than I thought Id have this week...tttt

Jeffy when on song is a terrific small forward. He has surely done his penance and is at his best on the big AFL stage not at some VFL sideshow.

God I hope Frost isn't playing forward.

Doubt it... he'll be doing Petty's job ...or rather..playing down back ?

Hard to argue with the outs, like for like position-wise, except we've exchanged a tall + small forward for two smalls.

Tyson done? Would be a shame, he has some abilities.

Paul Roos questioned the selection of the team of late...

He hinted the selection committee didn’t know what they were doing. I agreed!

I see a common theme in the inclusions...

Might they play Jeffy deep...and Spargo high ?

Height not so important in conditions..speed and endurance is.

I don't mind this team...as such

From a personal perspective pretty disappointed Dec didn’t get in this week, at least he is an emergency though. I understand why the chose who they did, hopefully it’s s good game.

Yes! Jeffy AND Spargo in the same team.

Great job Goody.

Stretch makes more sense than Tyson.

Unfortunately for Dom he is our 5th or 6th best inside mid and cannot play on the out side to save himself.

Frost in was a must.

Good selections overall.  I think we needed to go a little smaller, especially in Darwin with the slippery conditions, but I think it makes us a more balanced side.

Interestingly, Frost has been named at FF.  Will he actually play there is another thing, but they might be using him as the pinch hitter in the ruck this week.

At first I was like, dark helmet?

Then it hit me: LUDICROUS SPEED!

His time will come.

Aren't we forgetting that Garlett has been very underwhelming in the magoos? What happened to rewarding form at VFL level?

Inconsistent selection choices yet again imo

Somebody give Frosty Tony Campbell's super sticky footy mitts! He may be frosty but he is no lover of the pre-frost precursor dew.

Agree BUT....He had 7 tackles, maybe that is what they were looking for, forward pressure not necessarily disposals?

Saturday serves up a triple-header of footy action. The Lions will be looking to consolidate their Top 2 spot as they head to Marvel Stadium to clash with the Saints. Over in Adelaide, Port Adelaide will be strong favourites at home against a struggling North Melbourne. The day wraps up with a fiery encounter in Canberra, where the Giants and Bulldogs renew their bitter rivalry. Sunday’s schedule kicks off with the Suns aiming to bounce back from their shock defeat to Richmond, taking on the out of form Swans. Then the Blues will be out to claim a major scalp when they battle the Cats at the MCG. The round finishes with a less-than-thrilling affair between Hawthorn and West Coast at Marvel. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.

The Dees are back at the MCG on Thursday for the annual blockbuster ANZAC Eve game against the Tigers. Can the Demons win back to back games for the first time since Rounds 17 & 18 last season? Who comes in and who goes out?
