apparently we we have spoken with his management, but coming from spud frawley so grain of salt may be required

I would hope our people, are speaking to all prospective trades/free-agents people.  murphy's not, the lone ranger.

Thank Christ. Someone that can run and kick.

Would have had him in last nightover Harmes, ANB, Tyson, Lewis, Vince, Petracca, Hannan, J.Smith

tbh, If he played, I bet we win. He has class and has proven it in big games, we sorely lack that.

He adds polish. Yes from me (for what little that's worth)

contract size/form commensurate with injury risk

We need foot skills... that’s him. He would find a fwd on a night like last night.

I think he is worth looking at, provided the Richmond Doctor clears him of any doubts about injury risk and he is happy to play on a modest wage. He does use the ball well and doesn't have brain fades like old man Vince.

I don't think he would be a high dollar player, and Carlton will coerce him into free agency to land a high compo pick.

Would be a short term upgrade for us. I'm not convinced our midfiled is complete, and could use him to go up a notch.

Yes from me at the right price. Class and polish we need and wint have to do much grunt work with our list

Agree, I would have him over all of the above except Petracca!

He has great skills and would have made a difference to our season. Re getting to old, Vince in his last season and Lewis gone next year.

Trade Tyson for pick 19 (assuming Carlton on bottom) and take Murphy as a FA and Carlton get a high pick as compensation.

It really depends how much he'd cost. We could use his leadership and foot skills, he'd be a definite improvement on 6-7 players currently in our 22 for the next two years. If he came on a lower pay contract, then I'm all for it. If he's wanting coin, than it's a pass as he won't be around long and his body is struggling as it is.

This is subject to medical checks obviously, as a player who can't get on the park is useless.

Would be a perfect pick-up for us - class, contested ability and leadership. He's exactly what we need.   Is from the same draft as Nathan Jones, and subject to medical assessment can play 3 more seasons.

SOS is silly but can't even see him giving up pick 19 for Tyson.

Murphy would be a perfect fit if he is fit. He is an unrestricted free agent which makes it all about selling the dream of a flag, as Carlton will offer the best contract.

Don't forget, he is ex-GWS. We might get pick 1 from SOS if we throw in Buggy

It also puts us in the ball park, with salary cap space,,, to go after Dylan Shiel or Matt Buntine (Restricted Free Agents) in 2019... or possibly Joshua Kelly who is out of contract in 2019.

# also Zac Jones comes outOC in 2019...  according to footywire. https://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/out_of_contract_players?year=2019

So we park some salary cap into a short term contract (Murphy). with Lewis coming outOC, end of 2019_

Bernie has 4 games to go, to get to 100 Mfc games...  likely to be against the Cats, down at Geelong.

So we'll have a few players to free up salary cap space, in the next year or 2.

Can we get a report from the Richmond doctor about him ;)

  • REPORT: Collingwood

The media focus on the fiery interaction between Max Gawn and Steven May at the end of the game was unfortunate because it took away the gloss from Melbourne’s performance in winning almost everywhere but on the scoreboard in its Kings Birthday clash with Collingwood at the MCG. It was a real battle reminiscent of the good old days when the rivalry between the two clubs was at its height and a fitting contest to celebrate the 2025 Australian of the Year, Neale Daniher and his superb work to bring the campaign to raise funds for motor neurone disease awareness to the forefront. Notwithstanding the fact that the Magpies snatched a one point victory from his old club, Daniher would be proud of the fact that his Demons fought tooth and nail to win the keenly contested game in front of 77,761 fans.

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.
