That seems odd to me (unless he just genuinely couldn't make it) as I see not animosity with him leaving.

Didnโ€™t see Vandenberg either now that you mention it. ย Iโ€™m pretty sure all those delisted were there. ย Jesse was definitely there.

The Sun is reporting that the Saints will get Kent for nothing more than Pick 75 as they will use the threat of getting him in the pre-season draft to push that through.ย

Someone else will draft him before 75. Would definitely let them try that as 75 isnโ€™t worth [censored] to us anyway.

Would rather let him walk for nothing then get screwed by St Kilda. I wouldn't be surprised to see a side like the Gold Coast spend a pick in the 50s in the draft for him if he were forced into the draft.

Thing is, if we wonโ€™t use the pick antway we might as well let them do that and then they miss out on who they really want in the PSDย

Who cares. Was a delisting candidate anyway IMO, I'm still in shock from what they've offered him. Just sign it and move on to the actual business.

He names terms if he goes to the draft, and his terms will be 3 years and the Saints $$$ offer. Pretty confident there'd only be one club interested.

He has no worth. Let him walkย

He showed his worth this year, could have easily earned another year or two.

I didnโ€™t see Kent or VDB either. Mitch King, Bugg and Pedo I definitely saw.

Hogan was on a table that appearedย to be for those without partners along with Bugg and Garlett and a whole heap of blokes I didnโ€™t recognise (maybe Casey players?).

VDB definitely there, fwiw.

No F****** Way he is worth pick 75. When Kent is in the team, he is clearly in our best 22. He snags 2-3 goals a game, provides forward pressure, strong tacklingย and has genuine pace to break lines and can roost it from outside 50. He is clearly worth between 30 - 50. Name a better small forward we have? Garlett isย Lazy,ย Spargo cant kick past 40m andย JKH is well... he's JKH... a nobody.ย ย

Yep tell St.Kilda to f-off. Then tell Kent that if he wants to go to them, he has to get them to give us something half-decent.

And achieve what? If he goes to the draft, he gets to St Kilda and we get nothing. We can go all Essendon and thump our chest and make big statements about not being push overs, but all that does is make us look like flogs and wastes time. They hold all the aces. Cut our losses and move on.

Agree and if Kent follows this path then he will not beย part of the Demon family going forward and likely be booed in all future meetings with St.Kilda, after destroying the legacy of a significant part of his career.ย  He'll be retired a long time.

Don't know what the rules are these days but in the past that may have prevented him from starting pre season with them. 75 is useless to us and I would make them go to the draft if that's all they are willing to part with.

Some folk have a very strange idea of trading. It's not war , it's an opportunity to exchange for mutual benefit. Of course there are times it's slanted, but that's just market forces at play.

It is what it is.ย

He has played 11ย games in 2 years and you talk about him like his Cyril Rioli.ย

Regardless of what pick we get, St Kilda are still a pack of Kents.

And why not? Thatโ€™s the exact number of games Cyrilโ€™s played these lastย 2 years....ย ?

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Western Bulldogs

The Dogs reigned supreme in 2018 with an inaugural AFLW premiership cup and the Demons matched this feat by winning the cup as the Season 7 2022 champions.Meggs wasnโ€™t born when the Doggies won their first VFL premiership cup against the Demons in 1954. Covid prevented many Demons fans from legally witnessing the victorious 2021 AFL Grand Final cup performance between the Demons and the Bulldogs, but we all grin when remembering those magnificent seven third quarter goals. ย

  • PREVIEW: Hawthorn

Hawthorn and Melbourne. Two teams with impressive form from last week but with seasons that are travelling on different trajectories meet in Saturdayโ€™s twilight game for what could well be the most intriguing contest of the AFLโ€™s penultimate round. Sadly, the game has been relegated to that unappealing time slot in the weekend when Melburnians are typically preoccupied with activities other than football. It falls between the morning's shopping, afternoon sport and recreation, and Saturday night fever. A time usually reserved for relatively insignificant events but this one is not a nothingburger for either of the clubs or their fans.

In advance of Season 10, the AFL leadership has engaged in candid discussions with all clubs regarding strategies to boost attendance and expand fan bases. Concerningly, average attendances in 2024 were 2,660 fans per match, with the womenโ€™s game incurring an annual loss of approximately $50 million.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterdayโ€™s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown andย  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
