How can a player of Fritsch’s build take 14 marks in senior AFL football?

Freak.

Good point. Watching the way he moves, clean disposal and how strong he is overhead reminds me of a young Robbie Gray. Super talent.

You Dees fans are bloody awesome! Incredible atmosphere behind the goals. Enjoyed the Wadda We Sing with @Wadda We Sing.

Sit back and enjoy the weekend folks.

I have worded up my partner for tonights shift and we are madly putting everyone in bed. Marvelous how the residents all chose of their own free will to have an early night. Almost never happens :)

(Good for the replay straight after i slip them all some extra "happy pills")

GO DEES!!

Viagra for the blokes Ding

Dont want anyone rolling out of bed!

Reminds me of a young Fyfe.  That’s not me suggesting he’ll develop into the player Fyfe is now, but back in his early days, Fyfe had a similar style and build.

Question now is does frost come in for Lever or could they go with Pedo, Tyson could come in for Vince maybe, struggled today and made his usual silly turnovers

Yeah good call too. Fyfe is a Bull now but was as light as a feather when he first hit the scene.

Bit hard when we just lost Lever for the season.

But its an opportunity for Frost/Keilty/J Smith/Petty to fill the void.

There was another delicately build Melbourne player... Superstar. If he's 1/10 good as the Sainted Tulip then he'll be just fine

My observations.

Very good win. I never thought we were not going to win, even after the start, we were fumbling and missing targets but still moved the ball pretty well until we hit into f50, then we were pretty poor. But again, it was more a concentration thing.

Once we fixed it up, we were always in control.

Oliver didn’t touch it for 16 minutes and still starred.

Brayshaw had it 39 times, 32 uncontested. His kicking was poor half the time today but he is still a baby in terms of games and match fitness. The last few interviews he has done I have see/heard a healthy dose of arrogance in his own ability.

Jetta was best on ground by the length of the Flemington straight. No ifs nor buts.

Hogan was immense, Gawn while early I thought got beaten a few times smashed Biyd around the ground, his marking was first class.

Clearances were a problem all day but one that didn’t hurt us. Would like to know the hits to advantage by both sides.

The Lever loss is going to hurt especially if it’s long term.

Watching he video a couple of times, it doesn’t look like a fully blown ACL injury. Looks less serious than that, so keeping my hopes up atm

Bought a tear of joy listening and watching the boys sing the song with Jonesy and his kids. It's scary,[for me to get my head around too], to think that there is plenty of room for improvement and also a ton of maturity too come as this group ages together.

Jetta was par excellence as was angus again. Shout out to fritsch and jesse.

Hope jake l is ok. May razor ray go away.

Wow PLaying 4 seven in a row.

What have you heard?

T mac 19 goals in 6 games...  3.2 per game.   Incredible...  if he didnt miss the first 5 weeks he would likely be leading the Coleman.

I just couldn't get in to that game but a wins a win. A few things I learned today:

1.  Watching live, we blew so many simple chances to score and a top 8 team would definitely make us pay.  Travel is a cop-out, it was only decision making and confidence that prevented another 100 pointer.

2.  Firing rocket handballs at a team mate from a metre away seems to be in vogue.  And so many straight to feet.  Handballing was sloppy today even without Dom in the team.

3.  Oscar is playing his role but is so so slow to react after the spoil, and lacks intensity.  It looks like we are a player short in the contest.  We will get found out with Lever gone.  I think Joel Smith might be the best replacement at this stage as he attacks the ball in the air hard.

4.  The Bulldogs are a rubbish team.  They sharked a huge amount of Gawns taps and then just threw it away.  They have no spirit at all.

Were you watching the game? I thought Bernie was very good !!

I understand, trying to stay positive. Is that confirmed?

Yeah I reckon Lever gone, seen too many innocuous ACLs like it

Hope for best but didn't like what I saw!

Still I reckon adversity creates opportunity

Joel Smith for Lever

and Pedo for T Smith for versatility in Ruck and swingman

Dare I say it we still miss Jeffy and someone will be still Queens Birthday!

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
