Bit of a banana peel game today. Not sure it will be as easy as some are suggesting. And Clarry may need sunfactor 500

Well, game day after what has seemed to be an interminable wait. Foxtel today in the lounge - a fresh six-pack of KilkennyAle to encourage deep thoughts during the game, some camembert and crackers, and a big expectation for a win of around 5 goals. Lookout 7th position on the ladder - here we come!

Gold Coast to prove a real nuisance for 2 and a half quarters before we kick away for a reasonably comfortable win is my tip

Be foolish to take this game lightly.

Dew is far foxier than Goodwin. He just hasnt the list (yet)

I expect Suns to rty and expose our weaknesses early.

Junk time will be our nemesis again.

Hows the site holding up? Noticed its been down a bit lately, is there anything we can do to help? Is it time to pass the hat around agin i wonder.

Decent ins for the Gold Coast, having May back is huge for them.

Haven’t seen them play this year, so not sure what Dew has in the trick bag, and not sure how well they defend. But we have them comfortably covered on every line. Tipping a demons win 1-39.

Why isn't this game in Cairns ?? I'm in Port Douglas now and I would go to watch them in a heartbeat if it were in Cairns. As it is, I'll be watching it with FND at the Central Hotel in Port Douglas as the coconut palms sway in a gentle tropical zephyr.

This is our day people !!

pinacolada dee!

The Central was my host venue for our triumphant 2000 prelim vs the Roos - watching on a 30 inch TV screen, barefoot and topless in a cloud of cigarette smoke - though I couldn't face being in public for the GF, so watched the misery from my $200 p/w house on top of the hill overlooking the whole of Four Mile and beyond.

Things have changed rather somewhat since our last sniff of success. Though I would bet Helen is still at the Central.

dees by a truck load.at least 10 goals or more very confident

Crap wish I had your confidence Pineapple. To me this is definition of classic Melbourne DANGER GAME!!!  We are the better team on paper, are favourites to win, should win and pretty much everyone on here expects to win. What could possibly go wrong....

See you at the Central.

No hires today ? ;)

I pay 65% of my salary for 60sqm in Amsterdam.

What part Skuit? Yes space is a highly sort after commodity in Amsterdam, 60m2 is not bad. I always dreamed of a houseboat, but impossible now. Hope to be there in July/August.

It's never a bad time to pass the hat around. As to the outages I have no ideas what's been causing them.

thanks .. was thinking much the same during the week. Went down I think for the third quarter last week as well as shorter outages during the week.

Happy to give a little if it helps. This is a fantastic site as are the posters !

Go Dees

Must win the next 2 with one comfortably. Carlton worry me for some reason.

when teams go defensive as Carlton did last year and Suns may do today, our game plan does not stand up very well as we just end up with a super crowded forward line from which the other side escapes occasionally and scores.

Hopefully as in last week we relax the press a little and open up our forward line to allow it to function.

We just don’t seem to play well against Carlton. I would love to thrsh em. Anyhow get the GC game over 1st

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • POSTGAME: West Coast

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.
