Assuming he is not a complete idiot, I expect someone told him that they had 'heard' that and he was so keen to grasp at any straw that he didn't think to check it was true before going to press.  (Assuming it is in fact untrue.)

(Actually maybe that is the deinition of a complete idiot....)

How can people want to be the hanging judge on hits in an aggressive physical contact game and at the same time as a nation we condone mentally training our young men to be paid Killers for the armed forces or lately our police forces.?

And then these armed forces folk when they get home are de-arranged ticking time-bombs, in the right circumstances.

We talk about terrorists coming back here as dangerous, yet we train our own of a similar ability.

....  having our cake, and eating it as well.

some people will always find ways to barrack for their own views... no matter what.  without need of question, or a mirror.

I am one of those paid killers, so don't upset me or I will blow your computer up.

I knew it was a lie as soon as they claimed they were playing golf. These days people of that age play on line games like Fortnite.

Im not sure what is a charade about it?

This is total media hysteria, they want a perp walk through the airport, good on the Eagles for looking after Gaff.

WCE's all over again DD. They have been poor in the ethics department since day 1. Just look at the way their supporters treated a certain Brownlow medalist, ignored drug takers and the way they cheered Gaff after the event. Low lights of the AFL.

Their supporters are feral, whoever has been to a WCE game in Perth will know what I'm talking about in regards to them booing everything.

The Eagles have always had such high standards.

The 'music' is the tribunal, not the media scrum

I'm kinda on the fence on this one, and think you have a point.

However the AFL media can be a bunch of cretins and it wouldn't be much fun for the "regular folk" walking through the gate into that poo blizzard.

Nisbett for sure but give me a spell you’re looking to flay Gaff for the entire Eagles “history”?

Maybe have a spell from the thread for a bit, I suspect you’ll feel better for it.

And just to be really clear, Gaff has done some brutal damage to an unsuspecting opponents faces and will go through the tribunal process and he should be suspended for a decent period of time. This over the top but it’s the current climate of outrage.

I see it as protecting the travelling public more than protecting Gaff.  There you are coming off the plane with she-who-should-not-be-with-you and suddenly you are on the TV news......

Sorry!!

Gaff has been part of this club for a long time. He is part of the fabric.

I will decide when i make a comment, you don’t have to read it, that is your choice.

I still wouldn't like to come off a plane into that, but I am arguing at the margins a bit :)

I suspect it was something the airport/airline assisted in setting up. If I’m on that plan the last thing I want is a media scrum at the other end.

This way the passengers get out at their destination without that madness.

Solid defense from Gaff. Changing the conversation to the niggle off the ball. And as people have said on here, @McQueen - said he was aiming for chest but Brayshaw lowered his position...  Building the case for a light penalty. Still think 8wks.

You are probably right, i just don’t think he deserves protection.

Lowered his position in about .5 of a second. I am sure it will be the Defence, but it should be treated as very flimsy

Why did he even lie? Surely the truth was going to come out in the wash. Bizarre.

Good to see Angus weigh in and say for the tribunal to just deal it with and then move on. Gaff will be suspended for remainder of the season IMO. Sounds like there will be no grudges from the Brayshaw’s and hopefully he comes to us next season. WC’s  defence of Gaff is just slobery sucking up in an attempt to keep him.

I reckon something was said in regards to Hamish and Gaff, someone got it wrong or the CEO actually screwed up under pressure and did some 1+1 = 3

I don't think the intent was to lie, but incompetence... for sure!

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
