Round 6 Non MFC games

Featured Replies

Just thought I would get in early on the big one tomorrow night.

That's right Carlton on the national prime time stage playing the Dogs.. (at least the Bulldogs deserve the spot.)

Bulldogs by 65... Tom Boyd to have a rare great game with appropriate commentary from Bruce.

At least Carlton get the honour to crap on prime time and not us.

A Friday night thriller.

they were discussing that on SEN today. The suggestion by KB and co was that Clarkson had pressured the umps into rewarding the tackler. Has gone way too far in their mind and watching tonight they are so right

No there is a pattern at least in our recent games, if we have the ascendancy, the umps will not pay anything regarding holding the ball, dragging it in or incorrect disposal and repeatedly ball up to add to the congestion.

Then next quarter when the momentum turns against us, any attempts by us to hold up the ball will be called and a free kick given in the intetests of openning up the game. It’s quite simple really.

And our wonderful forward thinking AFL has made sure there are two coaches on their new super panel, and NO FANS! Way to look after the game.

Except that's not what happens. Good tackles and defense are rarely awarded. Holding the ball is often paid to break up play and congestion, and punishes players for simply grabbing the ball out of the air and getting immediately tackled.

Carlton must pay the AFL under the table to get Friday night games.

What a bloody appalling game of footy

But it's stress free!

Those 2 50 mt penalties covered about 70 meters. Umpires can't count.

Yes and no, sometimes they give a free with zero prior, sometimes they don’t. Sometimes they pay incorrect disposal and often they don’t. It just confused players and fans.

Curnow, oh my! The Weid would not have missed from there...

Docklands stadium turf looks terrible, here is hoping for no foot injuries on Sunday.

Bolton on the bench looks like a kid on his first day of primary school waiting for the bus with the big kids.

Oh how the dees have destroyed my faith in them. Why do I firmly believe that Carlton’s first win for the season will be us in our typical don’t show up game.

The standard of footy has been really poor this season across the entire league.

Agreed. An all round crap season thus far.

My friends and I who all barrack for different teams have a footy chat group going. It’s been going for a good 4 years now. And gees everyone is disappointed in this season so far, even those who support teams that are doing relatively well. It’s like tumbleweeds in the chat and tumbleweeds on game day. Total snooze fest.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.
