So who do we think plays on dusty in the goal square. Hibberd? Jones follow him all the way? Shirley not Vince?

I'd go with Jetta.

I'm backing the Weid to kick 2-3 goals tonight.  I'd love him to step up and show that he belongs at this level.  Him doing this gives us not only another tall target up forward, but also takes the pressure off others and gives us greater flexibility through the midfield in terms of giving Hogan and Petracca more minutes in there.

I think this will be a really close, hard fought contest that will go right down to the wire.  I'm praying to the football gods that we're the ones to be in front when the final siren rings.

Go Dees!

Would be a disastrous choice based on Jetts' current form.

Still, i have no real idea who to start on him.

Fingers and toes crossed he doesnt carve us up.

I can't argue against the fact that he isn't in great form, but I don't see Jetta allowing it to go on for too long.  He's quick enough and strong enough to compete with him down forward, but at the same time, Dusty could carve up most players he matches up on, so whoever get the job will need some support.

Bit worried about Oscar Macdonald and Wagner up against strong forwards.

Dees by a rousing 5 goals.

Yeah, you are right in that it doesnt matter who we choose to put on him, Dusty is gonna do Dusty stuff. I agree that Jetts should find form eventually, but it just seems to me to be too great a risk to hope that tonight is the game he (Jetta) finds form. It will only take 20 mins for Martin to put us away if he isnt closed down.

I believe we CAN win, but the brain says Richmond will win by a few after we put up a fight for 3. qtrs.

Im already hitting the sponsors cheapest whiskey in the hope it makes the game bearable.

Wagner may be able to perform a purely negating role on the dusty up foward. Although summary reckons he will play more through the midfield. I would like to see Jones play a role

Is there 50000 still waiting to get in?

If you want to experience what finals is all about then it starts tonight Dees..

The rest is up to you fellas.

Ignorantly, I had hoped AFL live pass would work when overseas. God dammit! ?

  • GAMEDAY: Essendon

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the  Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measly 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.
