GAME DAY - ROUND 4

Buggs last game i hope

Game over

That's it game over. Ever since Gawn missed that goal we have been [censored]. Great job Dees.

Please release Jones off the tag. We need to role the dice and get arguably our best mid and captain to lift us

Rioli's injured and off, Frawley's off with a migraine and O'Meara is playing injured. I'm getting f'ing angry today. We should be able to run over the top of them.

Sounds like Hawthorns gameplan

They have played the same way since the 70’s. Not pretty but effective is wet weather football

Our game doesn’t work in the wet.

Doent help when everyone goes up in the backline in the wet when no one is gonna mark it. We all go up. They stay down. They goal. Awful. Bugg you can pi$$ off.

Surely the defence aren't told by the coaches that they must all go up for the mark/spoil at the same time and leave at least one opponent loose to kick the goal.

Happens every bloody week. Could put your house on it

It’s like the first quarter didn’t even happen

It won't be. He does this sh*t all the time. But then he comes out and kicks 3-4 goals some weeks and people forget about him being sh*t - which he is most the time. Demonland seems to be onto Bugg today. Its taken them a while. The bloke is nothing but a turnover merchant. He is a useless kick.

I agree. I always cop it for stating Bugg isn't up to it, but reality is he isn't.

We are clearly held to a different standard by the umps

Some very odd decisions ?

Bugg has 4 behinds today.

Obviously Vince didn’t work with him on goal kicking this week.

Gotta do beta than that Bugg.

Was always taught..one up one down. I'm too old school of course

Melksham and wagner are very ddisappointing.

Jeff Garlett doesnt want to play today either.

Think it is time for a name change. Have not seen the MFC play like demons and should revert to the Fuchsia's. The upside would be a possible sponsorship deal with a fertiliser company or two. A good fit for we seem to be up to our neck in it most times.

Were gonna cop it from all angles after this. So dissapointing

Still bombing it forward only for them to stroll it out time and time again.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
