Anyone concerned that Brayshaw might leave should have those fears allayed by these comments:

"How could you leave this team?" he said with a wide grin.

"I keep talking about it, but the last two years I haven't played a lot of footy and the 10 minutes after a game is the golden 10 minutes I missed the most.

"I love all my teammates and I love the place, so hopefully (my new contract) gets sorted sooner rather than later."

It doesn't matter how many times you tell the nongs they won't believe until he signs.

It's the way they're wired.

His manager is probably waiting for him to crack 40 touches so he can raise the price a bit more. Clever by him to wait to be honest. He's increased his contract a lot since the start of the year when he couldn't get a game.

your right, TMc's an idiot. right

No his form over years had established a rate he could get irrespective of the signing date. AB is a different story this time last year it was possible he might never play again.

Yep and that's where the spreadsheet kicks in. What did the salary gurus have planned for Tom Mc and AB at season's start and what has their form as well as interest from other clubs done to those estimates. In a way planning for the solid players is easy by comparison to those like Gus who while we all knew had potential has come from the clouds in the last ten games.

FWIW I think Gus will sign but it will make a mess of that salary spreadsheet. Riddle me this... what do you think Fritsch will need to be offered next year and do you think the salary gurus had that one in their spreadsheet.

I put it to you that TMc since mid last year has doubled his value.  So I say his past years were maybe half what he's worth, in the past 12 months.

Point is TMc was good enough to sign on Mid season, and not hold the club to any sort of  Free-Agency ransom, which he could have done.

Lets see what Brayshaw is made of.

There may be less in the Mfc piggy-bank come end of season....  Angus.

That's great and gives all Dee fans a nice warm inner glow, however, the Club still needs to offer him a contract commensurate with his worth on the market.

Sign on you crazy brayshaw...

Remember when he was gone
He copped knocks on the scone
Shine on, that Brayshaw guy can
Now there's a look in his eye
He's set to crucify
Shine on, that Brayshaw guy can

He was caught in the crossfire
Of beltings and king hits
Barely remembered his name
Come on you talent, you dual-sided star
Come on you magnet, you legend
You Demon, and shine

If i was Angus, i wouldn’t be signing anything until September.

We make Finals and he is a big part of that, he will be in a very nice situation, and good luck to him.

He has got here the hard way

In his under 18's days he was known to have quality leader credentials.

Opportunity for him now to really grab that with both hands now Viney will miss a few weeks.

Could really stamp himself in the league over these next few top sides.

Would be great to have some real A Grade Leadership on the park.

Guys who can change the direction of a game regularly and not just talk about it.

That 3rd Quarter from last Saturday, if replicated, will rip any side apart.

Players who can do it deserve Top $$$

Every time I see a post in this thread I'm hoping it's a link to the article about him re-signing with the club.

I don't reckon it will be too far away.

The bottom line is that he'll sign. Doesn't matter if it's late August, early August or tomorrow morning.  I couldn't be more confident that it will get done.

I'm going with a 3 year deal.

Don't be surprised if it is two. His manager will be confident he will be worth a lot more in two years time.

Talking Footy saying contract talks have started but Brayshaw camp in no hurry as they know his value is rising and quickly. I think he will sign  a two to three year deal in about three weeks time. By the time we sign all are required players up not sure where going to have loads of money left for Gaff.

I'm confident that the club will have factored in Gus' rise. He's a top 3 pick. It's not like he's really come from the clouds. This was expected when we drafted him. He's finally starting to fulfil the potential he has and we've now invested time in him too.

He'll sign and for a fair deal. This is a guy who we stuck by despite his career being on the edge of a precipice last year and even early this year. He'll sign a 2-3 year deal (it may be 3 to give himself a bit of security in case the head stuff flairs up again).

As for Fritsch, he's another one who we gave a chance to through the Casey system and then backed him in through our AFL system. I can't see him playing us too hard either.

As we've heard multiple times from the club since Roosy arrived, we have a no [censored] policy and good characters  are sought. As long as Bayley is being paid fairly, he will not hold the club over a barrel.

Which, leaves plenty of money for Gaff. The more talent we have in this side, the harder it is to fail.

Gawn, Oliver and Brayshaw are starting to show some leadership, which coupled with Viney and Lever, means we have a terrific young leadership group to guide this talented side. And when Vince, Lewis and Jones go over the next 1-3 years, I'm starting to believe these guys will more than fill the void, they'll demonstrate the leadership we've been calling out for.

I've probably said it before (sorry, but I'm a senior) but one of his real weapons is his ability to kick with both feet. So he doesn't have to 'wheel around' on his preferred if the best/first option is to quickly kick with the non-preferred.

It amazes me how many players can't kick with both feet. Jack Viney would be so much better if he could kick with his right foot. Same with Dom Tyson.

Don't start me on Robbie Flower ...

Looking over the comments on Demonland I think any trade will be difficult. The consensus is that he is tougher than Jack Viney, faster than Jayden Hunt, better by foot than Clayton Oliver and has a tank better than ANB so taking all of the above traits into account you are looking at a guy who could break all records maybe upwards of 2.5 mil a year.

I don’t think we could afford that and again based on that if Bryce Gibbs is worth two first round picks this guy would have to worth maybe four making it difficult for other clubs though the Roos and Freo have a little cash so with a few picks may play a few cards.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
