IMO There is one prize in AFL and that is the GF everything else is just the AFL trying to maximise media coverage and revenue raising.

It is the Forest we want not individual trees.

Strangely enough I think it could be a success amongst the millennials. They seem to have a different view of entertainment.

I wonder if there will be betting allowed. Can see it being an afternoon of strange wagering.

The ground configuration is another point. Maybe good for rectangular stadiums but they are playing the games at oval stadiums which makes the action a long way from the stands.

I went to a soccer game at the rectangular stadium near Olympic park. It was great from a viewing aspect. By contrast I went to a big international at the MCG and the players were miles away not to mention all the dug outs etc that obscured the view.

By the way has anything been mentioned about TV coverage?

They can move Level 1 seating in at Etihad, which they have done

If it gives someone like Craig Jennings the opportunity to further his skills then it's a win.  

I agree that we may not necessarily care about the competition (and the side we select will tell us all we need to know), but there is still something positive to be taken from it.

Judging by the constant run of action movies and video games that seem to monopolise the market not to mention brunching (bring back the long lunch) there may be something in that
